Season tickets 2023-24 - what could/should be offered ?

‘Waggott said this was the ‘best response in five years’ and sales in phase one, which ran until May 7, had been above the target of up to 6,500.’

Best response is five years! So definitely 10k by KO then, great stuff.

From the article ‘Phase two was set to run until May 26, with a further price range after that date, but Waggott said that would only have been if Rovers were to win promotion to the Premier League’

Of course if that was true they could have said so when announcing the dates…

and I bet they set the target to make sure they achieved it rather than as a ‘challenge’ to meet.

Get drafting that letter 🙂

It says 859 fans have yet to renew and  540 have signed up so a net balance of just over minus 300. So if it is 7,300 in total did we sell less than 7.000 last season.? Thought it was more. Very disappointing but not really unexpected.

8,600 last summer supposedly, but like a good politician the figures he quotes never do seem to marry up…

They seem to be more than happy to lower expectations year after year. They were expecting 6,500 sales?..where the hell is the ambition to grow the fanbase and fill the ground?

Its just a General Malaise that pervades from Ewood.

Bolton have sold double our sales, let that sink in.

I think there is some odd wording going on here:

Quote

Meanwhile, the club also revealed they have sold 7,300 season tickets to date, generating an income of £1.97m.

Steve Waggott said at the recent fans’ forum meeting that it equated to a renewal rate of 82 per cent from last season.

There is some weird wording and numbers going on here.

Waggott is saying that having 7,300 season ticket holders is like a renewal rate of 82%. (7,300 out of 8,600 or so). The actual renewal rate, assuming there are some new season ticket holders, will be considerably lower than 82%.

And that leads me onto this:

Quote

It was revealed that 859 supporters are yet to renew, while 540 had signed up for a season ticket who didn’t have the full 23-game package in 2022/23.

If 859 supporters haven't renewed, but the other 7,500 have, than how can we have 7,300 ticket sales to date?

Of the 540, that will include the half-season ticket holders from last season. They aren't just new season ticket holders.

Crafty and confusing wording going on.

Lastly, a target of 6,500 season tickets to be sold during the bonanza period for a club vying for promotion is pathetic. Waggott needs to go, and/or the owners need their ears bending. It's embarrassing.

Am I reading it correctly that Waggot is celebrating the fact we have fewer season tickets sold this season? due to the fact we haven’t lost as many in the last 5 years so it’s good news?

Jesus Christ what have we become

We supposedly sold 8,700 full season tickets last summer as per October 2022’s FF minutes. So if 850 haven’t renewed that’s 7,850 that have, thats your starting point before you even get to newbies buying one… yet he comes out with 7,300?

Hmm, all very odd -  but what we do know is whatever figure he finally agrees on it will certainly have surpassed that seemingly very moveable target of his.

Haha, , without fail, year after year he breaks the previous seasons record. What a great job he is doing.
