Why should he stay here though? I've just said he'll likely be loaned out if he goes there, to another Championship club, where he would play (maybe more than he's playing here, which isn't a lot) and develop. Whilst earning a bigger wage. So why should he stay here, other than that we'd like him to?

Mainly because we own his registration for the next four years.

Yes well obviously it's not technically up to him (although in practice player power tells when someone insists they want out), but that wasn't the discussion. It was more about whether it would be best for him to stay or go.

So the manager barely plays him, but he should stay here?

Again you're not actually giving any counter-argument Chaddy, you're just insisting he should stay without any reason. Yes, moving clubs can go wrong, it can also go right. You mentioned Connor Mahoney, well I could say look at Jack O'Connell. You say look at Jack Clarke, I could say look at Jude Bellingham. Patrick Roberts, ok, but also Harvey Elliott.

JDT has explained why he hasn't been playing here and that part of the game is just as important as ever at PL level.

Jack O'Connell dropped down a league 1 with Sheffield United before becoming PL player. Similar to John Egan.

Bellingham is unbelievable player and that's why he is set to join Man City this summer for over 130 million pounds.

Money, more minutes on the pitch (whether that’s at Palace or a Championship loan). It’s clear as day he should be starting over Morton. He might well be feeling annoyed about his lack of minutes and he’s not the only one.

Of course I would start Wharton over at the minute but Morton isn't the problem but the lack of movement ahead of the centre back meaning slow tempo of the ball.

It’s amazing that almost everyone on here says Wharton should be ahead of Morton in the starting line up, but still he isn’t being picked.

Only JDT's and his staff opinion matters in picking the team

What about the team being No1. If that was the case, the best players and formation from what we have available would be picked.

JDT is trying to wake A. Wharton up. If he manages to get the workrate and professionalism out of him that's required, then we have some player.

He doesn't need waking up, he's already the best midfielder we have.

Absolutely. I guess the same applied when everyone on here and more or less every fan wanted Kean sacked. All that really mattered was the owners opinion and they didn’t. In fact, they never sacked him. I wonder if he would still be here, if he hadn’t decided to walk?

There have been some very strange things happening at the club, since these owners arrived and the sure as hell test the patience of us fans, whose opinions have never counted for anything, in their entire tenure.

We all thought that rat picked the team, during those days. After all as you state with the current regime, it’s the managers opinion that matters. Those stories about others influencing his selections, including what subs to make, could well, just be fiction. Rovers have become an awful lot more different than they were pre Venky’s, so who knows whose opinions really matter here?

He's got a lot of work to do physically and tactically, but hopefully he'll guide us to the PL next season.

Doing that work will make him a better player still, but he's already the best in the midfield. I hope for being guided to the PL this season, but I think that ship will sail. We would have lost less ground if we had played Adam more though, I'm confident of that.

In a midfield three he does well, and I definitely didn't want him to get dropped after his fine display at Huddersfield. He's our best forward passer, at least the best passer into the space behind the opposition's defense (Buckley second). Don't forget he's been out injured as well, and could have taken him a little while mentally to get stuck back in at training. JDT demands a lot of effort each session.

In a midfield anything he does well. As I've said before, I only care how a player performs on matchday, not how they perform in training, and on that count Adam has shown he is the best we have and he should be playing. It's insanity that he picked up man of the match on this site after a 20 minute cameo, had another fine performance in the next match, then got dropped back to the bench. If we had picked up the win you could maybe excuse it, but we didn't, and we were poor again.

That's why JDT hasn't been selecting him for the reasons he made publicly. He made similar comments about Jake Garrett

Everything matters when its performance on match days or training or attitude and listening team meetings or training or tactics/set pieces meetings.

Who says he was man of the match against Norwich? I'm sure Szmodics got that award

You don't get points for training ground performances. Of course training matters, and following tactics matters, etc. But I don't see anything from Wharton when he plays in situations where points are on the line, that suggests he doesn't work hard enough or causes any detriment to the team.

Mark Hughes was a notoriously poor trainer, but a proper winner on matchdays. Would you honestly rather have someone playing on matchdays who is great at training, but crap on matchdays, over someone who is crap in training but great on matchdays? That doesn't make any logical sense. And that's if we even believe the suggestions that Morton is great in training and Wharton isn't.

Wharton was BRFCS man of the match against Norwich, which is what I said. https://brfcs.com/magazine/football/match/881187/blackburn-norwich?tab=voting

Everything matters as JDT said right from the start. You seen the post which said what happened with Wharton and JDT said why. He has done similar with Garrett but no outcry from anyone on that one tho

I don't think Morton have been that bad before recent games performances. If Buckley was fit he would be starter ahead of Morton anyway for me. So Wharton wouldn't be starting anyway. Yes Wharton

So he is not playing the best players, or system, from what is available. He is stubburnly sticking to his plan and is not putting the team as No1.

Adam Wharton does not need waking up. He is the most astute and quick thinking midfielder at our club. What Adam Wharton needs, is playing more often.

Exactly! His languid style is because he is one of those rare players who, more often than not, makes the ball do the work. He knows the pass he intends to make before he actually receives the ball and that’s something that can’t be coached

You've hit the nail on the head. "Makes the ball do the work" is exactly what he does. No tear-arsing around like a headless chicken.

Of course JDT has cos he has said the reasons why Adam hasn't played. He made similar comments about Jake Garrett but we didn't one person outcry about it. Down to Adam to put the work in on the pitch, training pitch, team meetings, tactics meetings and attitude is all important here.

Let's end our debate here. I think you are talking bollocks. No need to reply.
