Preston is a winable game, Luton may have already got into the play-offs, Millwall could be out of it by the time we play them. We still have a fair chance of picking up points.

Luton already have confirmed play offs

They May tactically have one eye on their position and potential opponents though

Yeah but given our extreme challenges to score and our vulnerability at the back when it goes direct its really optimistic to think we can make it now.

Next season though i have high expectations

This is true, most people including myself thought we'd get beat by more than one goal tonight.

Instead it took a cheating goalkeeper and inept officials to rob us of two points.

Yeap, Coventry were awful tonight. Even with the pressure they were putting on us, they were never a real threat.

With the last 5 minutes & the constant fouling from us I could see them sneaking something …All too predictable.

Let's not give them the easy out. January isn't the reason for this turn in form. Yes it would have been nice to recruit more quality but the players have not been good enough to win games they should have. We've dropped 4 points in 4 days. That alone puts us in a far more comfortable position. It's like arsenal, they are dropping points because they are blowing it themselves more than what they did or didn't do in January. It's a cop out.

I don't think they mind facing us in the play-offs. Should be able to outmuscle this bunch fairly easily. Millwall would be a worse match for them imo.

Another stat, It's been just short of 6 months (22nd Oct) since we went 2 nil up at home. Toothless.

Scary...how can people question others who are dubious of JDT. He has so many weaknesses.

got what we deserved by trying to sit on a lead,i don`t care how bad the opposition is,if you let them have the ball they will score eventually,it`s a shame becuase we were far the better side in the 1st half, jdt messed up with that 5 at the back *******

on a better note, what a lovely footballer adam wharton is,makes it look effortless,he`s got to start on saturday imo

Feels like a decisive night in a bad way losing those 2 points to such a dodgy goal.

But controlling what we can, not good enough. We backed off and it felt somewhat inevitable. The subs didnt help, Dolan was shocking and couldnt keep the ball and Thomas was all over the place as a wing back, the third centre back invited pressure.

Brittain was hopeless too. Wharton absolutely outstanding and the 2 centre backs and Rankin Costello were good. The attacking players struggled to contribute and Pears doesnt instill confidence.

We were looking nervous and scared for the last 20 minutes and let them take the game to us rather than try and finish them off. That's where we bottled it - not that one incident in at the end

I guarantee you, had the referee had some kind of competence about him we would all be saying how we battled like warriors and saw the game out without Coventry ever really testing Pears.

If we’d signed better players, we’d have converted more chances surely?

Sickening. Predictable. Still in it.

Technically still in it but it's quite bizarre that we are after a run of no wins in how many?

I'd still wager though that no matter how badly the other sides perform we'll react accordingly and do whatever it takes to finish  just outside the playoffs. You could put your house on it. It's the mentality that's built up within and surrounding the Club.

The narrative will then be about how unlucky we've been and what a great season we've had, when in reality ( for the second season running) a play off place should never have been in doubt

I couldn’t believe people were praising Brittain at half time. He was awful and looked low on confidence. I thought maybe he could react second half…he was even worse!! Bring back Pickering I say.

Sorba Thomas hasn’t worked. Don’t sign the lad

Weird one with him. He was playing ok until he couldn’t play against Sheff U due to being cup tied. Hedges played well that day so Thomas hasn’t started since. I can’t remember if it was JDT or Gregg who was quoted as saying he could be a game changer in the final stages of games. To the contrary, despite having some good moments when starting games, he is always terrible when coming off the bench

One other thing nobody has mentioned. Its common practise for teams to put a man on the goalkeeper. But every corner they had they had about 4 players surrounding Pears and wrestling our lot back onto the goal line with little intention of getting to the ball. Each set piece there were about 4 or 5 fouls committed.

The ref would have a little word before it was taken and then do nothing. He was weak as piss.

It's a reason why we don't score so many goals though.

We haven't signed a striker since Summer 2019.
