Diaz through the middle maybe?

I doubt it, but I’m praying.

it`s not ideal but still better than dolan trying to play there

Disagree. He has astonishingly little composure in the box on the very rare occasions he gets in there.

I don’t think there is a single player in our squad I wouldn’t rather have as a centre forward (false or otherwise) than Ryan Hedges today. That includes goalkeepers.

I hope to god he’s out wide and Brereton is up top.

I can't think of a game where Brereton has played down the middle under either manager.But I agree it's worth a go.

Ben Brereton-Diaz, 43 goals in 159 games with the club;

Sam Gallagher, 42 goals in 195 games with Rovers (if Wikipedia is correct).

Surely this summer, we can find a striker who averages at least one in every three?

Finding a striker as sole criteria might be as much as we can expect from the current recruitment team, let alone a good one.

have you seen dolan trying to play centre forward,he gets the ball and turns backwards😉

Not always a bad thing if your wide forwards are Diaz & Hedges who are never offering him an option as they are stuck on the halfway line, so he turns back looking for the always willing Szmodics

he gets his head down and turns backwards with the football then obviously gets dispossesed,the best place for him is the wing,at least his pace will cause some problems there

Oh I agree wing is his best position. Thing is upfront he aint given no support from wide so he either turns to try and buy time for some support and gets dispossesed or he runs into a blind alley and gets dispossesed either way he gets pelters from some on here without looking at the circumstances he is being asked to play in

He's not fast.

He's a funny player - one that I'd sell if a decent offer came in.

tony will have overthought as usual and sunderland will be ultra cautious,expect north end to snuff them out easily and score from a set piece

Nah mate, Sunderland by 2 goals.  Nobbers have gone on holidays....and they won't be after helping us out.
