Sure their ex players bow to their every demand but who the hell do they think they are telling other pundits what to say? As for reflecting badly on the club where do you start?

As for Amorim don't know him don't like him. Hope he's a miserable failure though it possibly won't be his fault as they have no patience whatsoever.

It’s honestly not worth being this bitter about a club that arguably should barely even be on your radar mate 👍.

Sad to see no FA Cup replays any more from 1st round onwards. Weston-super-mare would’ve taken Bristol Rovers back to their ground in yesteryear, as it was a draw today, but under new rules, Rovers went on to beat the semi-pros in extra-time.

The replays were removed to free up spaces for the expanded European tournaments at request of Premier League. Not much else to be said, except that the heritage of domestic football and lower leagues are under serious threat.

in all honesty,i don`t think the players wanted the replays either ,the nasally ex dingle glen little made an excellent point on it today on radio lancs,if fleetwood had drawn at reading ,it`s the last thing a reading player would want, another away game, midweek in a freezing northern ground, the attendances for replays have also dropped off considerably ,sadly,it`s a sign of the times

Fair point, you could argue, also, that extra-time and pens is the best bet for a cup upset, rather than a replay. Though, I do feel 5 subs (rather than 3) gives teams with better squads a greater advantage, especially in extra-time.

To me, replays gave smaller clubs greater representation in the game, reminding us all where the roots of the game lie.

Wilson comes in as a sub and scores two fluke goals in added times. Unbelievable!

Not really though, they were going hammer and tongues the whole match and funnily enough banged in a couple of crosses and scored two in injury time.

They obviously didn't get the memo that isn't the 'right way' to play.

Man City lost again today, it's their 4th loss in a row. That has never happened to Guardiola before. They have a lot of injuries, but losing Rodri for the season is looking like it's causing them problems.

Liverpool beat Villa 2-0. Slot continues his excellent start.

Pep has been sussed out and he's now suffering from everyone trying to play his boring possession passing based style for the last 15 years.

Players aren't developed to be creative and skilled anymore, they're just trained to pass and be disciplined to play within 'the system'.

Case in point being Russel Martin. He was genuinely perplexed that because Southampton had something like 70% possession and limited Wolves to about 8 shots , Southampton should have won. He didn't mention that Southampton had 0 shots on target. They have commited the  lst mistakes leading to goals. Yet every week he's been getting hailed as a genius.

Games gone.

Didn't it happened at Bayern?

14/15 season. 2 league games, 1 champions league game and 1 German cup

Don't think he has been sussed out but as was discussed on Match of the day they stopped pressing a team. Plus Rodri is huge missed for them.

I think Martin will be sack during the international break and replace with Moyes or similar type.

City are a really dull team to watch.

Grealish used to be a really good player to watch at Villa. Pep’s coached the joy of playing football out of him.

We are suffering as well from Pepball. Even non league teams are trying to play it.

He isn’t perplexed really he just has to stick to the line as he knows he’ll somehow get another decent job by sticking to this ‘progressive’ football… but more fool the Southampton board for letting him use them and ending up back in the Championship as a result.

Kompany ‘sticking to his principles’, getting relegated as a result, but ending up at Bayern Munich is the blueprint for all these pound shop Peps.

Everyone misses the point that when at Barcelona he had some of the best players and THE best player in the world at his disposal. They had been through a youth system that had been working on playing that style of football since the mid 90s.

Along with them the squad was supplemented with the likes of Etoo, Henry, Fabregasc etc.

He also had the refs on the payroll.

At City he's had a budget of £♾️.

It was pep that developed these players.  He worked on the youth side before he was promoted to the first team job

I take my grandkids to football training now and again. They are coached to play it out from the back and to retain possession. They are told it’s ok to go backwards and play it back to the keeper.

Gone are the days when one player, just one player would take a risk. I watch a few Witton Albion games each season, I think they’re currently 8th tier. They can play the possession based stuff but, thankfully, do mix it up with a long ball when required and also wing play when the winger actually beats a man and crosses the ball, rather than playing it safely backwards to a team mate.

Things go round in circles and the old way (of sorts) will return at some point. It will help when Pep finally buggers off back to Spain. Hopefully not too long off.

Pep was manager of Barcelona B for a year in 2007/8.  Iniesta, Xavi & Messi were already established with the first team at this point, Pep could maybe take credit for developing Busquets as he was involved in the B team at the same time.

Edit - not to say that Pep didn't utilise those players very well once he was manager of the first team

They choose to play that way instead of actually playing a style that suits the players they have.

That's the one thing I want us to be which defensive solid but also play good attacking football(like we did for the first 2 goals) but not taking massive risk. There is nothing wrong a long pass upto your striker or ball down the side of the defence or over the top.

Hasn't the FA committed to coaching our coaches this philosophy for a few years?

This is the problem our young coaches have
