I read earlier in an article about set piece coaches  that - “ In the Carabao Cup on Wednesday Crystal Palace left three men on the half way line to stop Arsenal having all their players in the box “ ( for an Arsenal corner ).

That’s how it was when I first started playing.

It's so basic.

Forces them to pull players back to defend and when you win back the ball all you need to do is boot it up the pitch and the counter attack is on.

Anyone watching Villa v City?

Grealish is absolute pony he just always passes the ball back to his nearest colleague or if he does try a cross just gives it away.

Never actually produces an incisive pass or a moment of magic.

He's been ruined at city. At villa he used to go past players now he's just a system player.  A bit like what mourinho did to duff

Pep usually kills players that have that bit of individuality and X factor, as they're subsumed into the system. The exception was probably Messi, but not many players are that good.

Anyway, hope Plastic City stay humble.

He has had players like De Bruyne, the 2 Silva's and last season Foden who were individually brilliant and at times off the cuff even within that system.

Grealish has to an extent been neutralised but I dont think he was ever and never will be ever close to that sort of level.

I think Grealish is one of those players who would thrive at a club where he is the main man, as he was at Villa...a little bit like how Bellamy seemed at his best during his one season at Rovers. I don't watch City but doesn't he also get played out of position a lot as well?

He’s stuck on the left. At Villa he was allowed to roam where ever he could cause most damage. He said so himself in a recent interview.

ruud van horseface might have made a mistake in his choice of club😗

Or maybe the club is ok but he’s not very good? Not surprised by today’s result - Leicester far more likely than Wolves to go down
