It could have been a good time to get out of his temporary post though.

MU 0 the mighty Bournemouth 3

It’s wonderful isn’t it? Ratcliffe’s sense of entitlement (“the 11 years since Ferguson retired have been agony” -despite United winning 4 trophies in that time) was really annoying. He doesn’t know what agony is - try supporting BRFC matey

Great win for Bournemouth and hearing their fans signing at the end at Old Trafford. Great scenes.

Good point for Everton.

Fulham didn't created enough against Southampton

Great start for Wolves new head coach. Leicester City need some signings.

Wolves perhaps already justifying the decision to sack O'Neil. Had he been on charge they would have lost having conceded from set pieces and one of their players would have lost his discipline and had a strop.

Did you watch their game? Anything tactical different or different setup at set pieces?

United are like a soap opera, when they win, they’re back, when they lose, it’s the end of the world.

This Liverpool and Spurs game is very open…

Spurs are hilariously shit.

Absolutely rank at defending.

Ange I think has to be the most offensive manager in prem history, puts Keegan in the shade.

Cant be long till he gets sacked, shame as Ill miss his kamikaze games. Always entertaining.

He has had players like De Bruyne, the 2 Silva's and last season Foden who were individually brilliant and at times off the cuff even within that system.

Grealish has to an extent been neutralised but I dont think he was ever and never will be ever close to that sort of level.

Yeah £100M for a player who couldnt even establish himself in a pretty average England squad at the time seemed absolute madness.

Great game between Spurs vs Liverpool.

Both teams very good going forward.

Great for a neutral watcher and I have enjoyed it.

United woes ain't going anywhere but I think Almorin is good appointment for them.

Southampton better defensively but offered no threat going forward. Their new head coach has got a tough job on.

Wolves new head coach looks like he didn't change anything formation wise given the team he picked so what change? a different voice with simple approach? what has he change within the first few days? stronger disciplined of the players?

Put Romero and Van de Ven into that Spurs Defence and they are a different team plus they need to find a way of playing Maddison and Kulusevski into central roles.

I would stick with Postecoglou

Van De Ven is a good player but he's missed half of their games so far this season , they can't be relying on him to save them. They are better with him but the tactics are suicidal, they don't keep many clean sheets and generally concede too many goals in order to do anything. They are the highest scorers in the league and are currently sat 11th, closer to relegation than the title.

Anyway, Ange stated that he "always wins things in his second year", so let's see if he can pull something out of the bag in a cup.

You cant just shrug your shoulders when you get injuries and carry on letting them become repeatedly exposed. Its poor management and Spurs are seriously under achieving. And Ange just becomes more of a prick with the journalists who dare question his malfunctioning tactics.

And long may it continue. I absolutely loathe that club and it's fans.

Going back to Grealish and City, well the modern game and certainly Pep’s game is all about the players passing the ball before the opposition can get close to them. Playing that way from the keeper throughout the team and with pace. Grealish is one who’s game is exactly the opposite. Hes about attracting the opponent then either taking them on or releasing the ball - but certainly not at pace. You can’t have 10 players playing to that strict system but with one that doesn’t. He does offer something different if it’s needed but for me Grealish is never a regular starter under Guardiola.

As for City, the signs are there. It’s a rebuilding job. Ageing top class players are beginning to lose their influence. They’re now getting caught out defensively and aren’t as dominant in midfield. Some might think it’s temporary but IMO it isn’t. It’s time for Pep to let go players that city fans wouldn’t have dreamed of releasing 12 months ago. The problem is they might be playing in the lower leagues before he gets chance to rebuild back to where they were. This could take a few years?

Ange has the touch of Klopp about him in that when things are golden he's sound, but the second the cracks start to appear he turns into a right knob.

Yes, theres nothing wrong with having a philosophy and approach when it works but you have to be realistic when it doesnt. Ange hasnt been, he continued to plough a furrow long after the wheels have come off, and that will cost him his job and probably a shot at another similar level job.

He'll be pigeon holed quite rightly as way too defensively naive for a top job.

He does, although doesnt have the managerial ability of Klopp so cant even justify such levels of arrogance.

Both very unlikeable people IMO.

I wonder if Pep regrets signing a new deal.

A lot is put down to Rodri's absence and obviously it is a big factor as they also didnt have a natural replacement so a side so reliant on control just now has a huge gap in midfield. But it goes beyond that with an aging squad as you say. Walker has always been reliant on pace which is starting to go, De Bruyne seems to be over the hill and their summer signings of Gundogan and Savinho havent helped at all. Theyve lost Alvarez too who was a very handy option.

No you don't shrugged your shoulders but when you are without your best 2 centre backs and best defensive midfielder it was make you significant weaker but do you go more defensive meaning players like Son, Maddison and Kulusevski will be in less attacking areas. Sarr and Bissouma didn't offered good enough protection to the back 4 yesterday but lets give Liverpool some credit for their football and goals they scored. Spurs need to get Archie Gray in front of the back 4 with Bentancur as 2 defensive midfield and I think they would be much better.

I think you make an interesting point about whether Pep does regrets signing a new contract, but this is his biggest challenge of his managerial career but I also think its a challenge for the club cos in the summer and even in January they need to be making signings. Losing Rodri was a massive lost but I think Pep's team selection can been question now. They have let good PL players who would be in their first 11 right now go like Porro(Spurs right back), Palmer(Chelsea) and Rogers(Villa). Selling Alvaraz was a mistake for me as was not bring in a younger centre midfielder or long term replacement for De Bruyne.
