The company I work for had many customers who had to be put on Pro -Forma because of habitual late payment. Half are still going and got themselves onto some kind of level playing field, but the other half eventually went into liquidation and we lost thousands. 
If this is the case with Rovers I would be very worried.

They are absolutely 100% not to be trusted. I would demand nothing less than full payment up front and even then things would have to be quiet for me to take them on as a client.

After this 'gig', very much doubt he'll need to work again (think he is approaching 70).

After six and a half years with Rovers, with salary and benefits he will have cost Rovers some £2millionish (£2.3millionish if you factor in NI).  Staggering - IMO, so very, very much for oh so very, very little.

Me too.....lest we forget he tried unsuccessfully to flog off half of Brockhall as well.

Things could have been ever so slightly worse, we could have been sat here still wondering when work on the brand new state of the art training complex promised by Waggott and Cheston was due to start.

How ludicrous does that proposition sound now?

He sat there a few years ago and told us it would be better to build everything on one site and the owners would make up the shortfall in cost !

This is the same ownership who he has been constantly cutting costs for and telling us we can't keep relying on them for money. Just how would that have worked out had he started that project ?

They'd be back on Pleasington now and i think it's quite clear now trying to quietly get planning permission on Brockall to flog it was nothing more than an attempt at a quick cash grab cooked up by those inside the club.  Not the owners, what would they even know about Brockall, this was cooked up inside the club by the grubby snout in the trough gang i'm sure.

Exactly. This is the guy who, from day one said "we can't keep asking them to spend". The same guy who couldn't get £2m out of them for a Desso stitch pitch yet he expected us to believe that he would talk them into funding a new state of the art, all in one, training facility. Give over. You'd have to be an idiot to fall for that.

Sadly, that's exactly what we saw. Just as concerning as the scheme was the number of Rovers fans backing the idea. 'Move with the times', 'brand new', 'we need an upgrade', 'why can't you be positive', 'it's going to be state of the art'. We even had one or two dismissing the idea of Uncle Jack's legacy, playing it down, before backtracking. It was too late though, they showed their hand.

Unbelievable how a liar in a suit had many deceived just by the use of four words:

It's been happening for hundreds of years with politicians talking shit to the public. Using clever wording, telling people what they want to hear and then delivering eff all. He would be more at home with them. The fact he is at such a prestigious football club and is trying to turn it into Crewe or Barnsley is tragic.

It's gone for good now i think.

Next round of cost cutting will see everyone humped together training at the academy sight in order to save paying the lease money.

Whoever actually owns it now will then do whatever they want with it.

An Argyle fan in peace!

We feel your pain but you will get through it.  We had our own financial problems around 10 years ago and almost dropped out of league 2…twice.  
 

We had Risdale as chairman which should tell you everything you need to know and almost got wound up by the HRMC who wanted to make an example of a football club.  They had a winding up case at the High Court that no one at the club was aware of.   If it hadn’t been for an Argyle fan alerting the club that they needed to show up to the court case and argue for time we’d have been wound up….

But then we got a decent chairman followed by a brilliant one who was born and raised in Plymouth. 
We have no debt and we run a balanced ship.  The chairman openly admits he can’t afford to give money or loans to the club so we can only spend what we  bring in. 

So, we have the lowest budget in the league and are favourites for relegation.  
But, we will play attacking football with young players who we can improve and sell on.  

Things became surreal for Argyle fans last January when we were turning down bids from Lazio for Whittaker (and now Rangers).

 
My point is that things will get better and your club will be run properly again.  

There will be a low point that you will look back on as the final turning point.  We got knocked out of the FA Cup by Stourbridge…..
