It's very much up for debate whether or not they even have to match money sent over like for like.

My reading of the previous Court judgment reproduced on here is that they merely have to provide personal guarantees to cover any money transferred.

And of course Waggott has previously declared on more than one occasion that there is "no impediment" to them funding the Club as normal which would be nearer to them having to merely provide guarantees as opposed to double funding.

Looks nailed on for another adjournment tomorrow though given the position in the Court list. The farce rolls endlessly on. A cynic might say the owners are finding this endless delay quite convenient.

The court document from this September quotes their representative using the words (in relation to the guarantee)  ‘ this predicament places an immense financial burden on the Petitioner’ (the petitioner being Venkys)

Perhaps it isn’t an insurmountable one, but it certainly sounds like an impediment to me. 🤔

Thanks for finding that - Good spot.

They're seemingly trying (not very hard?) to get any and all restrictions lifted. They're not going to go into Court and say "It's cool we can live with that." are they?

Regardless however of the actual expense or inconvenience the restrictions are putting them to, it proves Waggott is lying through his teeth.  They're obviously not prepared to provide the assurances the Court are requesting in relation to funding be they actual double funding or mere personal guarantees or both.

Well done Scotty!

Though it may just be me, I think the article is pretty poor journalism. Grab the low hanging fruit, whilst copy and pasting a million similar articles over the last dozen years.

Venkys came in, ruined the Walker legacy, made bad decisions, compounded those decisions, haven't been seen much since. It doesn't take a Pulitzer Prize to write 90% of that article.

The juiciest paragraph is saved to the very end and this is what a journalist should be writing about.

Where has the fan base gone?

Why have they gone?

How robust was it in the first place?

These questions are the ones that deserve a journalistic deep dive, rather than a bunch of 'maybe this' and 'maybe that'.

And you are surprised by that ?

Indeed. It'll be interesting to see what happens though when the Wharton/Szmodics instalments dry up because none of the current crop are fetching decent money.

Wouldn't be surprised if Waggot and the other guy have sold them this ideology now that we can keep going like this with minimal investment from them.

We know Swag is a downgradering chief so the longer it goes on he can make sales then slash and burn accordingly which keeps him in pension funds and perks.

Its been robust enough to withstand the last near decade and a half on nonsense and nothingness and still have a hardcore of 12k, which would be more if the idiot in charge had gone down a competitive pricing strategy years ago that is more in keeping with the area economics.

In all likelihood the ONLY way Waggott feels he can earn credit with the Indians and thus keep himself in lucrative employment is by saving them money.

The shortest route to doing this is to sell, sell, sell, cut, cut, cut and not make any non-essential requests for cash.

He's the master of this. It's one thing he has done consistently since the day he darkened the Ewood door.

He isn't going to ever try to persuade these people to push, to adopt his grand multi-year strategy for growth and advancement, push for better, more money, get on the phone to them and request it.

He's in self-preservation mode. Keep the head down, take a bit of grief from the fans from time to time, regurgitate the party line about them being kind people constrained by those nasty rules, and reduce the burden on their wallets and the job is a good one.

"Rudy Gestede stressed that open communication with supporters will be a key in his role as Blackburn Rovers' Head of Football Operations"

"Gestede vowed to ensure supporters feel connected with Rovers by helping them understand the strategy moving forwards"

"I think communication is key, they have to know what's going on to a certain extent obviously. If you want them to feel part of the club then you need to make them feel like they know what's happening in the club.

"I'm pleased we're doing this already. Steve Waggott is doing his best to ensure the fans know what's happening in the club"

"I think Steve is working to make sure we are improved on everything and we're all aligned in the same direction."

Only earlier this year the club 'scooped' the EFL 'Fan Engagement Award'

So owners back in Court in India facing legal issues that directly impact the future operation of the football club, potentially the very existence of the football club.

Lets see how long it takes for Rudy and Steve to communicate what this means and what happens next. Or will they, like their bosses, only react once they have no choice and say the bare minimum?

Doesnt really make any difference whether they succeed or fail in this case. The main barrier is and has been for a long while that they simply dont want to invest.

The main thing that it proves is that they dont care about the club nor do they plan to put money into it.

Waggott is their arse licking lap dog, Suhail is their sneaky snake, both are merely enabling symptoms of the real problem.

Has anyone sent this to Waggott with a link to the Oxford English Dictionary, explaining the meaning of the word impediment?
