Can’t be a surprise for GB to go. Should have immediately been sacked after the McGuire debacle, probably should have been after the O’Brian and Brierley failures if we’re being fair. Not sure he’s to blame for it, but any owners who pay attention would have sacked him then. The only surprise is Waggot remains. A competent organization would have sacked the whole lot and started fresh. Unfortunately as long as Venkys are around competently ownership will remain illusive.

GB wasn't at fault for McGuire debacle. Paperwork uploaded isn't part of his job. That's the club secretary

You can't just sack him then, It needed an internal investigate and meetings and everything that happens as others have said.

he has`nt been sacked, just relieved of his duties, which basically is reaching an agreement to leave his role while getting a nice fat severance cheque and a non disclosure agreement of  telling the media what a complete bunch of cretins the remaining board are

Yet another mutual agreement then, very common here over the years 😑

I think the only variable is the cost - how many £millions!?

Frightening.

How predictable..

Two years on from Mowbray leaving and us bringing in an exciting young manager supported by a DoF, they're both gone amid much infighting and power struggles.

Can't be bothered to get into the nuts and bolts of individual performance.... At one point we had a plan, now all we're left with is Waggott.

Waggot has a plan.

Continue cutting costs and selling players, bring in your mates, squeeze the remaining hardcore to the hilt, protect the owners and the shadow MD, finish 4th bottom.

Another 300k nearer retirement.

And that all costs the Rao’s over £20m a year to implement. 🤯

I don't doubt that Wahlstedt is on decent money - we bought Kaminski for circa £300k and he was being run out of Gent. We had to hijack Wahlstedt's deal with another club.

Kaminski was given a contract extension so he'd have left on a higher wage than he joined with.

We still a good young head coach and we will have DoF when we appoint GB replacement which according to some is experience DoF.

lets see what they can do this season.

I think GB did a great choice with contracts here but his loan signings let him down badly

It may not have been his direct responsibility but after the previous January he should have micro managed the completion of the deal. You simply cannot have that happen on your watch again.

It isn't his direct responsibility to send the papaerwork over. @Mike Grahamhas directly told you and the board who was responsible for the paperwork problem. He has been sacked over it and replace by Brett Baker

tis the final straw,us fans were hoodwinked into thinking there was a new regime and new found ambition going on,jdt obviously sailed to close to the wind in threatening to build a good side and get us promoted, same with happen to eustace if he achieves the improbable (us in the top six by january)

I'm glad rumour has it that Rovers are going to continue with the DOF-model. Hopefully we will bring in an experienced and progressive DOF.

It is clear that many clubs in the last decade with that model has been successful. With a DOF in place you are to able to plan long term and sign players accordingly. Think how Arsenal has recruited vs United's appalling recruitment.

It does require some patience and a club willing to invest(!). If Venkys do intend to continue doing it, they need to step up...

Said it before, can’t the fan group ask what he actually does as a CEO and what is he doing to improve the commercial side of the club?

Then shame him when he lies.

Been on holiday and disconnected this last week and playing a bit of catch up. I'd seen the BBC article about Broughton leaving and thought I'd take a nose at the LT to see if they could shed anymore light, only to find there's nothing there.

If the LT aren't publishing an article on the second highest ranking person at the club leaving (we all know itw 3rd most with the shadow man), then what is the point in them as a Rovers focused media outlet.

Again they are just a mouthpiece for the club. No proper journalism, no difficult questions asked. Positive news only. It really feels as though the fans are back in the dark with no allies. Jdt at least tried to raise standards and talk honestly for a while. Now it's back to shut up, give us your money and accept the downgrading of every facet of the club, all in the self-interest of a select few.

What a time to be a Rovers fan!

Broughton hasn't official left yet but all reports indicate he will leave shortly and been replace

Club Secretary Ian Silvester has left and been replaced by Brett Baker. Left Brighton to come here

They say the only thing that'll survive a nuclear war are cockroaches. Clearly they didn't know about Waggott at the time.

Responsibilty vs accountablity.

After the debacle of the previous January window, perhaps he should have hung around, not trusted anybody to do their jobs properly,  made sure that those responsible did their bit & all the i's were dotted etc, to protect his individual accountability.

Or maybe simply not got home that evening at 11pm cos he was 'tired'.

We’ve had quite a lot of discussion around commercial performance over the last couple of years. The recent accounts show commercial income has grown from £4.8 million to £6.1 million per annum. Turnover was up 25% year on year.

Similarly, average attendance and number of season ticket holders is up again this year. 14% up over the last 2 years. Average attendance the highest since we were relegated. Match day revenue up £1.7 million in the last year.

I get asked on a near daily basis why aren’t we challenging the club on dwindling attendances and decreased commercial revenue. Obviously we can’t attack the club or anyone who works there based on misconceptions. What we can do is express our desire for things to grow at a quicker rate and provide feedback and suggestions on how this might be achieved.

Thanks for answering. It must be very frustrating dealing with someone like Waggott.

Lies, damn lies and…

We’ve gone from 8 to 9k ST holders, yes that’s an increase, 9 is higher than 8 after all, but it’s a very low bar in comparison to pretty much the whole division. It’s nothing to be proud of, though it will be bonuses and slaps on the backs all round.

But lets use that as a baseline regardless and let’s continue to build… so do you (and the club) foresee that progress continuing next season? And if not, why?
