It's such a scattergun approach to signing players with rovers. It's obvious no real planning has gone into recruitment.  A loan deal for a Liverpool reserve, a loan deal for two Brighton players.  A loan deal for an mls player. The scouting clearly isn't up to much. Properly run clubs scout all over the world for hidden gems. Rovers just go cap in hand

Guys been smoking something. He will be back in no time with those amounts

Well again, I wouldn't trust that Bogert fellow. His reports seem to consist of things he's made up, stuff already posted and a grain of truth, all posted from his front room.

Ask any Rovers fan what we needed and they could tell you, but it certainly seems scattershot.

Just bring in whoever we can and spend as little as you can while you're at it.

If that’s true it’s a terrible deal for us; huge amount for the loan fee and then a ridiculous agreed fee

Meaning we’ll loan him but even if he’s brilliant not sign him

If he does well they'll buy him for $7m and sell him on directly. If not I can't see it going through.

Don't know how true this is but...

You couldn't make this shit up.

£2.3m permanent fee negotiated, we renege, then renegotiate a loan deal costing c £500k with an option to  buy for a total of c£7.5m!

But yeah, we'll be signing him permanently.............

Is it 5 loan players in the match day squad isn't it? Someone at rovers needs to be keeping track of this because someone is missing out at this rate.

We're definitely going to miss a midfielder, or three.

Because his stats in a tinpot league are hardly impressive and the fact that only us and Sheffield Wednesday were in for him Says everything

Ryan Nelson came from the mls and it was a lot worse standard then it’s grown a lot since

In Venky land it just buys them 6 months to avoid spending the money and then when we get to the summer we don't exercise the option and the money disappears.

i still remember the word "LEASE" used by the mdm Queen, her highness

He means 10 million in total including loan fees etc on an unproven player

exactly, i hope he turns out to be good and we didn't waste Wharton's money. It's not very often we produce a Duff or a Wharton from our academy.

That options to buy price makes literally zero sense. It's so nonsensical it can't be true...wait this is Blackburn Rovers...

If we were pushing for promotion then perhaps it would be realistic - fire us into Prem, take a punt he can step up. Scrambling around to stay in the league? In what world do we spend that sort of money in the summer?

If we end up with more than 5, Ayari misses out, doesn't even stand out in the U21s

I've seen people praising Broughton's modus operandi of trying to get players in on loan with an option to buy in a later window.

The trouble is that this is just a typical Venky regime stunt. No cash now, give us a favourable deal and then we -might- give you millions later depending on how the player does and what our circumstances are.

Obviously a case of we haven't got two quid to rub together so we'll kick the can down the road for another 6 months and either go elsewhere then or maybe the owners will take some interest by then and actually allow some money to be spent.

Making it up as they go along.
