I do worry that when Wolves inevitably bin Gary O'Neil that they might have an eye on Eustace. Unless their owners think they can get a bigger name.

Waggot has managed to stumble upon gold dust here with JE as he seems so far to be an upgrade on JDT at this level at least.

Not suggesting JDT is a bad coach....just that he wasn't able to switch things up enough in style of play against certain Championship sides when needed. Eustace appears to be able to adapt to different teams more comfortably.

There was a time when a club like Wolves would take a gamble on a relatively un proved at top level manager like Eustace. Newcastle did it with Gordon Lee, Sheff Utd did it with Ken Furphy and Everton did it with Howard Kendall.  However times have changed and I suspect Wolves will be looking abroad as per usual.

You've got to speak Portuguese to manage Wolves these days.

I very much doubt Wolves will  go for Eustace. The fans are a vocal lot who make their feelings known and would be totally underwhelmed for one. Mr Charisma he isn't. Wolves are almost certain to pick another foreign coach and I'm sure have him lined up already

Although Eustace took us close to relegation last season and you do have to wonder about his communication skills because he makes for a dreadful interviewee, you can't argue with the job he's done so far this season and there's no doubt he's got the Rovers players playing for him.

Eustace doing a fine job, team in a good position, fans happy, players seem to be happy.

He has 18 months left on his deal signed when he joined. So not only is a large chunk of our squad out of contract in the next 6-18 months but also the manager who is holding it all together.

Now what you would expect to happen, and pronto, is for the club to sort out a new, extended, improved contract for Eustace.

But that doesn't happen here. Contract extensions just don't get sorted under slippery Steve and the shadow man. Improved terms? Ha.

Makes me chuckle to myself when I keep hearing fans talk about whether Dolan is going to sign 'his new deal' or not, as though it is just assumed that there is a new improved deal sat there waiting to be signed by him and we are being strung along. I'd say based on the antics of this club and total lack of senior contract extensions over a number of years that there is little to no intention among the hierarchy to plan longer term or ensure key personnel are tied down. Not if it saves a few quid in the meantime.

He saved us from relegation.

I agree, he’s not very media savvy, (although he’s improving), but you only have to listen to the players to see that he is an excellent communicator and man manager, and they respond to him accordingly.

The evidence is there for all to see on the pitch.

He’s not a bad as Mowbray was as an interviewee. He was miserable even when we were winning.

I've said this quite recently already, but it does concern me more than a little bit that JE's agent has JE linked with literally anything and everything.

He's either going into business for himself, in the pursuit of the dollar, or JE has given him the instruction to do this.

It's not a coincidence either way.

I think he's a very good interviewee.

He's been very open and honest when talking to the media (i.e. you don't come away from his interviews thinking you watched a different game to him).

He has a message and he sticks to it - and actually refers back to it (see him referencing the same message after 3 losses as after 6 wins - togetherness, working hard, need the whole squad etc etc).

He also doesn't hang his players out to dry publicly.

There's a time and a place for this. In the middle of a 6 game winning streak isn't it - let us enjoy something for once, please.

He'd be mad not to try and leverage this situation into a better job. It's clear from the last 18 months that no investment is going to be made into the squad, he's on a hiding to nothing eventually - why would he stay? He's not a Rovers fan, he's a professional football manager.
