At the end of the day Szmodic is playing and playing well, goal scored and an assist .Wether it was the clubs decision or Szmodic insistence they gave him 3 weeks off more or less to get the deal sorted and Ipswich haven't met the clubs valuation.

If the club are overvaluing Szmodic in his opinion and feels we should be accepting the offer from Ipswich and he is really unhappy with the club then instead of playing well and putting himself at risk of injury then would he not be putting a transfer request in?

dealing with rovers must be a nightmare,if it`s not the indians it`s swag and non button pressing imbecile, thats what probably p*****g sammie off,the deal is going away because of the c***s at ewood

Haha. He's going nowhere. Ben Hinchliffe. County legend. Former long haul lorry driver (and missed a game when we were part time because he couldn't get any more time off), over 300 games for the club and our most "capped" GK. Triple champion of the NLN, NL and L2. Now 36 and when he sees out his 2-year deal at the club he'll get his testimonial.

Ageing like a fine wine. Golden glove winner last season but not the tallest or best vs crosses (as you see for the 5th) and the club have signed 2 GKs to start the transition. Minor uproar when he didn't start of our first league game. It's happened before though and he's always displaced his challenger.

Best wishes for the rest of the season and hope the squad recovers soon from the injury crisis. A shame for your side that they couldn't at least field a near strength side. Perhaps, a creditable score given that County had a 16 year old at centre back and youth players throughout.

Whilst you are around, I wonder what you know about the loan dealings of clubs in Conference/League 2/League 1. Back in the day, Rovers youngsters would, it seemed, quite easily find loan moves to those levels, quite often staying within the football league. Nowadays, it's a rarity, with most of them heading to National League North. I think even SPL is more likely to take them these days than those leagues and it seems somewhat puzzling, even taking into account Rovers are a far lesser club these days.

On Rovers, giving Buckley the captaincy is potentially a masterstroke. I feel that whether for lack of confidence or self-belief - or other reasons - he's been hesitant to take a leading role. He really needs to do it this season to save his Rovers career.

Are they cunts for sticking to their valuation for arguably the best player in the division when he’s contracted until 2027?!

So does JDT and Eustace doesn't seem overly keen. Why didn't he play Friday?

Don’t know mate, I don’t pick the team. Looks at the stats for tonight’s game. Pretty good for somebody who “  did very little “.

He is too slow and laboured to do it against better teams.

I don't know... when he's on it he can be really good even against top teams like Newcastle in the cup last season.

I think Buckley is one who if a few things clicked could go up significantly in his performance. I am hopeful we will have a consistent player come end of the season.

Loving the post-win Gueye loving.

If Szmodics didn’t applaud when he went off, he made up for it at full time.

It reminds me a bit of the Elliott Bennett fist-pump. I didn’t even like Bennett but I loved that fist pump.

Professional performance. Unlucky not to keep a clean sheet, Corner placed a nice height across the 6 yard box with pears glued to his line again.

yes but another goal from a corner!

His attitude had been holding him back not his ability. Maybe Eustace has told him his fortune.

im`e stating that the owners and ceo are w****s and could`nt negotiate their way out of an open wardrobe, they have a history of it and no doubt are messing ipswich about for the sake of half a million quid, meanwhile the transfer deadline is looming and we need players, maybe they are going back to the old trick of waiting till the last day, selling sammie for what they deem acceptable and not having time to get a replacement in,face it,our owners are the lowest form of life of the football world

I wouldn't just say attitude... think he has looked tactically a bit lost. Moved around the pitch a lot (false nine, number 10, right back etc), doesn't have a clear role. I think he's the sort of player who needs a clear role as the main ball player in the center of the park.

One of them where it is very difficult to analyse the game such was the opposition, a team of kids for a depleted lower league opposition.

You can only beat what is in front of you, and we demolished them. Felt we took our foot off the gas in the second-half, which is understandable because it turned into a training ground exercise, but the substitutes clearly wanted to get in on the goals, and did so.

Felt a little sorry for Stockport County. I used to live around there and I usually have a little affinity for wherever I've lived and worked. They had a number of injuries, but even so, I'm sure tonight was a bit of a reality check for them which they might have been expecting. They've had an excellent rise back into a respectable league. Good luck to them.

I remember watching Hinchcliffe win a play-off final penalty shootout for AFC Fylde in 2014. I thought he’d retired before seeing the team sheet tonight.

Challinor was also manager for Fylde that day too.

If Ohashi has performed, then it's nothing whatsoever like Bennett's.

Bennett used to stink the place out on the pitch then give it the big'un after the final whistle if we happened to win (no thanks to him)  which personally I hated.

Cheers. It's been a problem for over a year now though which is a massive worry. The club say they have reviewed and are doing all that they can, and it's somewhat self perpetuating with ACL injuries meaning you always have 2-3 out long term then the ones that return after a  layoff are at increased risk, but by now you wonder if it's just bad luck. We've got pretty much everything else right off the field though and have invested plenty.

A little having had our fair share of loans. I wonder if the gaps in the EFL have narrowed, particularly with promoted clubs from the NL to L2 and L2 to L1 doing very well of late. We seem to pick up PL youngsters rather than Championship - maybe because wage contribution isn't less of a concern for the PL clubs too?

The comfort zone for quite a few players under Mowbray was all too evident.

Whilst there's a lot to be aid for stability it's really a watchword for being happy going nowhere and whilst too many changes are bad i think a club like us has to role the dice every now and again.

Keeps everyone on their toes and gets rid of deadwood.

Why is it framed as us messing Ipswich around on our lengthily contracted star asset for the sake of half a million quid, rather than Ipswich with their Premier League riches messing us around for the sake of half a million quid?

Frankly our valuation is too low anyway, based on what I've heard. I hope we stand firm. For once I'm not going to criticise these bellends on this one, not yet.

Championship clubs tend to have youth players whose wages are easy enough to pick up though compared to Prem academy players. And NLN clubs certainly aren't picking them up any better than L1, L2 and NL teams.

I think it's more a case of the perception that Prem academy players must be better, even though our academy outperforms quite a few of them for league standings and players produced. Added to that, some Prem clubs just hoover up dozens of talented youngsters and loan most of them out like they're a player farm. Without following L1 and L2 much, I suspect they've over saturated the leagues with their own youth and there's less chance for our unfairly less well perceived players to go there.

Positives:

  • Thumping, morale boosting win.
  • 10 goals in 2 games, will help boost attendances (and club cashflow).
  • Sammy still here and firing.
  • Squad players stepping up - strong squad competitive.
  • Wembley, Wembley!

Negatives:

  • I wasn’t allowed to put Rovers Radio on until the girls had fallen asleep in the car on the way back from Chester Zoo - they were in no rush…50 mins in.
  • Rovers Radio - crowd noise louder than commentators rendering it pointless, so only updates on Talk Sport.
  • We don’t do clean sheets.
  • We are running out of County’s who we can play.

Good times.
