Apologies if someone’s already covered this but did we change formation when Cantwell came on?

Nope, a much more fluid 3 (Cantwell, Dolan, Weimann) behind the striker though, Hedges went to left back until JRC replaced him

No, he went to LM and Hedges to LB.

Cantwell just used the ball far better than Hedges ever will. He kept coming central as well and finding space, much in the same way as JE wanted Baker to do last week.

Handled the man advantage much better than last week. Cantwell will be something to watch when he is fully up to speed

Have to say Trav was my man of the match today, absolutely gave everything today, he is transformed under JE.

Tronstad as ever, just plugging holes wherever they appear. Dolan also great today

Been hankering for ACD to play, but he's actually been poor. Not sure what's up with him, I know it was only Carisle u21s but he looks a shadow of the player. That was a bit better though as I'm typing.

Curious, I thought he looked very lively.

Good first touch, looks to have the ability to turn on the ball in a tight space and isn't afraid to get a shot away.

He's just not quick, sadly, but he's clearly a damn sight better than Hedges and should be starting games for us.

There's definitely promise there, but I'd like to see him to do something other than run 20 yards down the wing, turn inside and pass to Travis/Tronstad

No. Cantwell went wide left, Hedges dropped in at LB.

I found it very interesting that Pickering was sacrificed at half time and then JRC was given a look at LB for 10 minutes at the end.

Has Eustace finally realised that Pickering isn't good enough and he's having a look at his other options, or was it just an opportunity to reintroduce JRC back into the squad after two bad performances? Nothing was coming down their right side, so there was no real reason to take Hedges off.

Hedges was on a booking. No need to keep him on.

We're looking in very good shape this season. Solid as a rock defensively and goals all over the team.

Cantwell needs to start games. He was magic when he came on. Dolan had a good game too. Batth deservedly man of the match.

Two home games in a row now we've won very comfortably with around half an hour to spare. Obviously the sending off changed the game but I think we'd have gone on to win anyway.

We are a real force this season. Don't wanna get carried away but I have a very good feeling about this season. The squad balance and strength in depth feels like the best we've had in a long, long time.

Yeah Travis genuinely looked like hes moved p a couple of levels...

Him and Tronstad worked very well together with Somdre dropping off to cover and Travis finding space. Travis had a real play maker role which ive never seen him do so effectively before. Great long and short passing.

Think it was more a case of just getting a more attacking player at left back against 10 men,

Hedges basically doing Becks job of overlapping and allowing Cantwell to drift inside as a 2nd number 10

Given Brittain is injured, and Beck suspended, Eustace needed a different option in one of the full back areas to enable him to carry on with the same system he has been using all season.

I am sure that when everyone is fit, if Brittain starts at right back, then Pickering will be the left back. and when Beck starts at left back, Carter will start as right back

I still don't think we quite have enough to seriously challenge (we still lack pace), but to use some baseball parlance, we're no longer an easy out.

Pears had one save to make today, and that was a weak shot from range. He barely had anything to do against PNE either. Eustace has focused on the defensive side of the game and made us very difficult to beat - that'll always stand you in good stead come the end of the season.

Perhaps give him more than 12mins to judge!

I thought he was lively. Considering a busy week for him and getting a hat trick

He was coming deep, went to cm, went out wide and was stretching their poor defence.

Some fans will always be negative tho!

Thereby admitting that your starting LB isn't good enough as that's a basic function of a full back these days.

Definitely. Can see a difference once he went off. Bucko is good but Trav is a different level

Yeah, pretty obvious he was reverting to his preferred tactic of an attacking full back and a wide man that comes central. How good was Cantwell?

No.

Eustace has one full back who tucks in to make a back 3, and 1 who goes forward to overlap.  both Carter and Pickering do the tucking in role, and therefore an overlapping option was required
