Have to admit prior to us signing him I had not heard of the fella but looking at the comments on arsenal websites and articles the fans weren't best pleased they let him go for free (or almost free) not sure what they are playing at he looks like a real steal for Brighton (and now us for the season!) 

Looking at his hat trick this week I am excited to see him prosper in our first team.

I would like to see him as he sounds like a quick and direct player who can take people on.

Our alternative wide options really underwhelm. I know theres been a lot of talk of players being played there purely to perhaps faciliate the full back on that side going forward and I get that, and maybe we can do that on one side depending on who is used there, but some individuality would be great.

Hedges has shown over a number of years that he shouldnt be starting regularly and is very limited. Dolan and Weimann would rather play centrally, they can do a job wide coming inside depending on the circumstances and who is around them but are limited there. Sigurdsson has struggled and seems out of favour, the JRC out wide experiment seems to have been potted and the Baker starting wide choice also didnt work.

I don't think he's as quick as people are hoping.

Quick enough that the half a yard his skill buys him opens up a lot of options, but he's not a flying winger. I'm more interested in his quality on the ball - Dolan and Hedges have little, sadly.

I do wonder if you are right, he was described as quick but in his brief cameos he doesnt look rapid, but he didnt really get into a sprint very often.

Still far quicker than the others but our lack of pace has still not been addressed. But even if he likes running at players and cutting in and shooting, it could give us a new dimension.

Seems strange to let him go for free if Brighton then just loan him out. Don't know why arsenal didn't just keep him and then loan him.

They did the same with that guy who went to Chelsea last year (omari Hutchinson) for free. They then sell him for £20m to Ipswich.

Arsenal's transfer dealings seem a little unplanned, sometimes akin to ours !!

Do you think he will eventually replace Dolan or hedges on the wings once he is up to speed? (Or hedges gets his seasonal medium term injury)

Didn't Arsenal want him to stay but he opted to go to Brighton for the sake of his career?

Yeh that's what I read too. But if you are choosing to leave a top 4 side to join a top ?10 side to get games and then get loaned out to the championship for said games.. why not skip the middle man and not just stay at arsenal and request a loan from there. nelson, viera, others have been loaned out by arsenal.

A really good loan here could see him in Brighton's plans next season, where as a really good loan here if he played for Arsenal, would probably mean him being loaned out again next season to someone else probably slightly higher in the Championship, and probably again the following season to maybe a low end Prem side.

I don't know about quick and direct, from what I have seen of ACD, he isn't pacey and turns back to play the ball backwards a lot. But he may still be our best option in a wide forward position.

It's sad that it seems we are in the situation that a "win" is to have loanees come in and help us stay in the league - and then move on to become valuable assets for their Prem clubs. In some cases, such as Ayari, he didn't contribute much here at all but is playing Premier League football now (albeit, he's not been involved in most recent Brighton games). Ben Chrisene earned Villa a speculated 1.5m transfer fee to Norwich.

A real success would be the Tom Cairney deal, when a loan was turned into a permanent deal. However, I understand it is more difficult with topflight players, but, I think, it should be the aspiration for some loans, though, costlier.

There is the ideal world and the real world we live in as rovers fans. 

Unfortunately for rovers fans the real world is a place where we loan players like Elliott and they do well for us and they head off back to their parent clubs

He can take a shot with left or right.

He's got some pace but as usual the coaches try to nullify that through inverting.

He didn't though. Arsenal attempted to keep him, but he was out of contract and chose to go to Brighton. I believe no money has changed hands yet but it's going to tribunal.

I read he didn't sign a contract with arsenal because he wanted game time so he signed for Brighton...who immediately loaned him to us. Great for us. Fascinating for him. Not sure why not just stay at arsenal, all those great players like Saka and rice to learn from..Am sure arsenal would have loaned him to a championship side if he had stayed.

If he had stayed (and signed a long term deal) at Arsenal, he would be behind Saka (who is only a couple of years older than him) for years.  He probably fancies his chances of displacing  Solly March to be a first team Prem player in a year or 2 after a successful loan

Yeh for sure. Only takes one long term injury (overdue!) and Saka is out. Also they play in all 4 competitions now so lots of opportunities at arsenal. Looks like Nwaneri has taken his opportunity well. 

Still great for us. Hope we see ACD in the first team soon. Giving players like Beck a chance in first team shows there are opportunities at Rovers which is great

Arteta is going to wreck saka. He plays him in virtually every game.
