I can't see the problem with Schlupp on loan as cover down the left side as long as we also sign a striker and a winger (preferably permanently)

If Schlupp is so expensive to do in terms of wages he ends up being our marquee signing then that then becomes a problem and I wouldn't be enthusiastic about him getting a permanent deal either.

apparently eustace went beserk at cantwell for his lazy offside and immediately after doing his press interviews went straight to gestede about "players,budgets and other stuff" rudi is now in charge of recruitment by all accounts,swag was nowhere to be seen after the final whistle,probably scoffing the left overs from the boardroom buffet,eustace is happy with the job and his players but definately wants 2/3 incomings ,he`s very easy going usually but can get quite testy if he does`nt get his own way on football matters

One. Which is one more than us. Along with reaching the lottery of the playoffs 3 times, which is 3 more than us. And spending zero seasons in League One, which is one less than us. They've only finished in the bottom half of the Championship twice, which is four less than us.

Even taking out the fact that we have objectively performed worse than them in this period, I'm really not sure what your point is. Are you suggesting it would be best to not support the manager and to not reinvest?

Perhaps you should take some maths lessons . We were in the Premier League for the seasons ending in 2010,2011 and 2012 which is 3 , 2 more than Steve Gibson's Middlesbrough.

Eustace wants experience championship players as he has said in interviews, should we ignore what he wants? 

Hasn't Batth been one of best players this season and for savvy, low money, investments, its a good job we signed Tronstad and Ohashi, Hyam and Brittain than

Eustace is right to go to Gestede about new players wanting in as soon as possible. 

Rudy is the head of football operations so will run the recruitment side of the footballing operation, why wouldn't he not? Does Waggott really need to be involve?

Very good, nice and glib, well done. We're clearly talking about the Venkys effect vs the Gibson effect though. Our preexisting superior condition can't really be brought into that conversation. Since Boro finished 11th, 12th and 7th in the Championship in those seasons it didn't affect any of the stats I used. Arguably you could use the two Prem seasons under Venkys, the one where they nearly got us relegated from what was it about 8th place, then the one where they did get us relegated, but they don't reinforce any notion of them being capable owners as we were far stronger before then.

Gibson has been chairman of Boro since 1994, and formed a consortium to save the club in 1986. This has been the most successful period in their history, with a League Cup (their only major honour), an FA Cup final and a UEFA Cup final. I think Gibson's approach has done pretty well for Boro, yes.

But it's really only pertinent to compare the Boro and Rovers since Venkys took over, moreover since they got us relegated and how we have both dealt with being Championship clubs. In this period, his approach has been far more successful than our approach of mostly selling everything that's not bolted down and barely reinvesting apart from a couple of random flurries.

If you can't see that Venkys' ownership is shit and their lack of reinvestment is hampering us, then there's really nothing else to discuss.

Gibson has lost similar amounts as the Venkys bankrolling his football club. And kept them marooned in the Championship for 14 of the last 15 years.

I'm unsure why he is constantly trotted out as a litmus test for the perfect football club owner. Perhaps because he bailed them out originally and is a fan?

Our owners lose 17 million a year. 50k a day! Only player trading keeps us liquid. They wiped 30 million off our turnover and created this mess, but sadly there is no easy fix once you go down. Unless you want to risk your own personal fortune or the financial viability of your football club.

As the respected Mr. Gibson will confirm.
