The best player on the pitch yesterday by a mile was Cameron Branagan. He absolutely dominated us. As I recall we were linked with him in the summer but, as usual nothing came of it.

There are lots of players out there who will improve us but the way the club is run it's become a very difficult process to actually get them in. Step forward Suhail and Gestede.

Branagan said he didn’t want to leave Oxford for any team and then signed a new deal

O'Brien just isn't going to happen, we'd need him now and how much of his wages are we going to pay? 12k? Forest will wait till the end of the window then it's more or less pointless because travis will be back.

We need attackers and fast it's pretty simple.

Pointless how? If he improves a squad that's challenging for promotion then that's a good thing, yes?

Travis - good, but injured (soon back)
Tronstad - good, but injured (6+ weeks?)
Bucko - ok, has had a few injuries in the past

Forshaw - not good, legs have gone

JRC - varies a lot, not a sitting midfielder

So who scores the goals we require to compete for top 6

Pompey game aside - 3rd worst away team in the league lost last 8/10 away from home (still have to beat them which we did is a plus)

Our attacking is simply not good enough and needs addressing as a matter of urgency

Four 1-0 losses in last 7 games

with a full team we had the same four 1-0 wins in same game span

that’s not gonna do

We need more players, of course.

Always puzzled me when posters/fans were against dembele. Sometimes it's not about the goals/assists of a player but what they bring to the build up (pace directness). Even Jackson can see it!
He was outstanding yesterday and ran rings around us for Brum at home last season. He's exactly what we needed and I imagine Eustace wasn't impressed he didn't get him....He is the exact profile we're missing.

I like duberry and he showed flashes that first half on the right, but he was poor in that second half - I don't rate Dolan or Hedges at all.

Remember this, was when a bunch of teams were after him too.

Massive respect to the lad - loyalty like that is uncommon these days!

He will improve the squad yes but if tronstad injury isn't as bad as feared, who plays CDM in a few weeks? I don't fancy stumping up for a player who demands 40k a week when there are clear signs that we need 2/3 attackers.

The O'brien deal would make perfect footballing sense, he'd be a brilliant addition in a position which needs strengthening. He'd arguably be first choice out of the 3.

Let the club worry about his wages, if it isn't doable they definitely won't do it.

The cracks are beginning to show - Trav and Tron injured within a few weeks of each other because they are being flogged, with most on here including you saying the back-up in CM isn’t good enough. So a quality addition in CM would be most welcome.

We’re on with a shout of the play offs, we need a good squad for the run in. All additions will have a role to play.

And the story doesn’t actually say we are going to pay £40k, it says Forest want as much of it paid as possible. Big difference.

Of course it does and if we were Sheffield united/Sunderland we would/should do it. We don't have a pot to piss in, we've brought in a CDM already in Foreshaw, are we now saying he's not good enough? Then why did the club bring him in? I don't agree that he gets ahead of Tronstad n Travis, not with how good they were before their injuries.

Travis is just over a week away, Buckley is doing okay, then there's JRC and Foreshaw. If we are classing JRC as right back then maybe its worth going for but with our tiny budget we need to be going for Attackers.

You don’t know what the budget is.

I know it doesn't but they will want a lot paying. I imagine they'll hang around waiting to see who offers the most and release - By then Travis will be back.

Foreshaw wasn't good enough for bottom of the table, he absolutely isn't good enough for us.

Why did we bring him in? Cos he was free.

O'Brien would be an astute signing that would improve our midfield no end.

Exactly, why did we, surely we must of known O'brien was coming available...If we bring O'Brien in, what a fucking waste of time Foreshaw was.

We need him for the 2nd half of the season. We can’t continue to flog T&T

I think he got rewarded again with a new contract on promotion last season. If I remember correctly, our reported interest was in summer 2023 when it looked like he was definitely going and it was a surprise when it was announced that he had signed another contract.

Saw O'brien run the game against us at Huddersfield on his own, he would be the best midfielder at the club, and is the kind of quality we need. Eustace said he wanted 2 or 3 quality additions, well here's one of them.

Let the club worry about the money, we won't have to have a whip round on here and pay it.
