The irony is that, had Birmingham's new owners not sacked Eustace, there's a good chance he'd have got them to the Play Offs (as a minimum), either last season or this.

They clearly fell into the trap of being star struck by a big name as a player, (Rooney), but have now probably learned, and are backing their new manager with hard cash.

Had Eustace been retained, and given the same backing, the sky would've been the limit.

As J*B says, it doesn’t take much to placate the Rovers fan base. We could bring in nonody else between now and the end of the window and even pull off another O’Brien / McGuire screw-up and still the majority would just shrug their shoulders and come up with b*llocks like, ‘we’re keeping our powder dry’ or ‘they can’t fund us’ etc etc. It’s infuriating. I can only imagine how JE is feeling.

It's always this point that fans turn their anger on other fans, it isn't any fan's fault.

It always makes me laugh when the "happy clapper' cliché starts to get thrown about. I always ask the question, what does a non happy clapper actually do that a happy clapper doesn't, other than come on here complaining and call other fellow fans a happy clapper?

Just the same as people saying "stop being negative."

Unhelpful rubbish in the absence of anything constructive.

Lewis O'Brien has essentially been dismissed in the LT with the usual line of "prioritising the budget for a striker and winger."

It cant be either or. A normal club with an ounce of ambition looks at it and the owners release more funds for an extra midfield signing knowing that the landscape has changed with Tronstad now injured and Baker having returned.

Not here. It cant be either attackers or midfield. Even if we sign attacking reinforcements, such a strong part of our team has been massively damaged. But just make do with a Plymouth reserve.

I feel sorry for any gaffer who ends up working here under these owners and their minions, they simply never stand a chance. Especially someone like Eustace who, as well as being a fantastic coach, seems like an absolute gentleman.

Pains me to say such things... Outside of my family and a few close friends, there are very few things that I love more than this Football Club.

I think we can all resonate there.

It's our football club.

It's life outside of the 9-5.

It's a social hub.

What's frustrating is they bang on about community in their sideline projects, Rovers are doing this in the community, Rovers are doing that in the community.

(And provide some great support to those who need it and educational forums wholeheartedly benefit)

But the feeling of community dwindles when you look at the Steel House that Jack built, that sits proudly a focal point in the bosom of Ewood, when you drive past it and sigh at the days gone by crowds 30 abreast walking down the hill no tarmac in sight.

Community. What do they know about community.

Only thing this community can do now is stick by the team and the badge and go along for the ride. Albeit a car with no brakes heading down a very steep hill with pointy stuff at the bottom.

I think it’s more despair and exasperation , than anger.

It’s also not really a case of calling out “happy clappers”.

It’s supporters who still sympathise with Venkys, and believe the narrative that they are doing all they can.

The people who sit behind me are a good example.

You certainly couldn’t describe them as being “happy clappers”, (one is extremely vocal with criticism of players), but they react with amazement and scorn if anti - Venky chanting begins.

Dane Scarlett has been recalled from his loan at Oxford, fully expect our cheapskate muppets to be all over that one.

Just saw that and thought the same, with the narrative being that he has the "Championship experience" Eustace wants

If we count Championship experience as mainly sitting on the bench and appearing as a late sub
