It beggers belief why we are so quick to offload players before bringing any in. I said before we could shoot ourselves in the foot by sending duru out on loan. And now costello and Britain look potentially injured. And batth. Mcfadzean out the door also. And also Garrett looks on his way out. This angers me the most, a lot of people say for their players progression, sod that! First team comes first, if there needed as potential back up they shouldn’t be allowed to leave until players come in. Every day it feels someone’s leaving on loan when every day we look short in numbers. Baffled! The loss was almost a certainty for me personally imo, it’s the injuries and lack of thought about letting players go before getting anyone in that’s really annoyed me after the injuries racking up.

He was awful tonight. Ball watching and half hearted attempts to defend for both goals.

A squad player at best that should be nowhere near the starting XI for a club in the top 6 of the Championship.

How many of them should be anywhere near a top 6 championship side? Not many.

Yep what's the excuse usually given when we're allegedly tracking someone from another Club?

"We can't move on him because they won't let him go until they've signed a replacement."

We're exactly the opposite. We can't wait to shift someone out first. And then more often than not fail to secure the signing anyhow.

I’m nearly as angry tonight as I was after the O’Brien and Maguire debacles. It’s criminal that our lack of planning and urgency has meant we are coming into these crucial winnable games without a competitive squad. Having owners that don’t care about the club but won’t sell us for some unfathomable reason is like football purgatory. I wonder if JE will hold his counsel in his post match interview?! I know I’d struggle to in his position.

He's sounding more like a defeated man at the moment. As I mentioned earlier on another thread you've been able to hear the enthusiasm that anyone decent is coming in draining out of him more or less by the interview recently.

He's probably thinking about now he's done more or less all he can here. What's the point?

Its not the only thing that matters, even if it is clearly the most important.

We have 4 crucial games between now and then, if you include QPR the day after deadline day when no last ditch signings will likely play. A nice run of games on paper, and there are only 15 games after that  If we struggle in these 4 those play off aspirations could really diminish.

Tinfoil hat time

The game has been rearranged for that day so that Eustace is not in the building to push for deals to be completed on deadline day as the first team will have travelled to London by then

"Sorry John, there was a power cut, so we could not press send"

whoever rearranged that qpr game should be taken to the back of the riverside and thrown in the disgusting stretch of water, absolutely mental decision

i fail to see why garrett is going on loan when he could play instead of forshaw, who litterally cannot move,at least garrett can keep up with the opposition

Serious questions need to be asked as to why the QPR match was rearranged to that date - even earlier than the scheduled date for a squad that is down to bare bones.

This isn't a top 6 side. It really isn't. It's in false position, and will sink slowly down the table

A few nonsense rumours will Start appearing now

But nobody will be signed in time for Saturday

Keep an eye out for the pattern over the next few days. Some of the rumoured targets are likely to be ex Boro, Sunderland, Birmingham, Coventry or Hibs.

This pattern has been there for a while. It doesn't apply to every rumoured link, but it does show itself at least once every season.

Those targets also tend to be linked with a couple of those clubs in the same piece of hack gossip/transfer 'news' as us.

If anybody wants to check this out, go back over some of the players we have been linked with over the last 10 or so years and you'll likely notice it.

It’s not a top 6 squad, but bearing in mind we started the game with Sonny and Travis and finished it without Brittain and Batth (Arguably our best 4 players this season) we were the better team tonight. We had no luck in front of goal, whatsoever and they did.

We haven’t been played off the park tonight, far from it.

I missed tonight's game but I've seen enough this season to know the squad - even when fully fit - isn't strong enough or good enough to finish a gruelling 46-game season in the top 6.

It doesn't matter that we played well in parts tonight - we lost, again, and it was entirely predictable beforehand that we would. Many folks on here saw it coming, especially after the no-show at Oxford, which I was unfortunate to witness.

Yep. Have to cancel the Duru loan now, he's going to be playing. Garrett should be in CM over Forshaw and JRC (who is also injured).
