Soon as ACD and Siggy are fit they have to go straight in. I’d even argue Buckley deserves fitting in somehow. Dolan and Hedges are poor footballers. Only two players capable of a top half finish are Cantwell and Tronstad. That being said we only conceded today through stupid errors, JRC and Pears when he parried it straight back to them.
Can’t expect much to happen going forward when you’ve Cantwell on the ball and the three players attacking would struggle in league one.

If Sigurdsson is the answer, I’m not sure what the question is. He gets better every time he doesn’t play with some fans but might as well give him a go, after nearly 6 hours without a goal the team can’t do any worse

Disagree about the transfer window. Whoever plays in that final third is going to struggle, based on the service they get. Eustace is completely at fault for this. We are for too negative, especially with someone like Cantwell in the team.

The main reason is a lack of funding, again. But if you look at what we needed, a good striker, a new number 1 and some pace, none of those have been ticked off.

You look at who we have signed. Beck and Cantwell have obviously improved us. Batth is ok but I dont see him playing every game until the new year and we need him too because we signed another CB who is nearly 40 and cant play in a back 4. Neither striker is up to it. Baker seems totally pointless. Toth a benchwarmer. ACD wont start a game until at least mid to late November, Weimann with 1 wonder goal but otherwise looks past it.

We were reported to be after him for the last few windows. How on earth can we allow Adam W to sign for Palace without at least securing the loan of their winger, what we have been crying out for for years.

Because our owners aren’t planning for the future. They see pound signs before anything else!

And this is now where we are. Nothing else really to sell.

When they finally do leave, they will leave us with nothing, but a hollowed out shell.

And yet some supporters have no concerns of them.

What has Waggott done to bring monies into the cub. It’s just been sell, sell, sell.

Sheff United were just better than us, both technically and in decision making. You watch some of the basic errors we make (JRC not clearing, Dolan and Ohashi not playing the pass accurately, Gueye running it out of play, half of our team unable to control is properly) and you you rarely saw Sheff United make those errors. Time may show that they are the best team in the league, but they were way infront of us today.

However the pissing around and the back, refusal to leave anyone up from corners and lack of any real changes to how we were playing was frustrating.

Played off the pitch by a superior side. We were set up so negatively from the start it felt like the goal was a draw at best. Looked more like the side trying to scratch and claw out draws fit survival than one sitting around the playoffs

That was an eye opener as we were dominated all over the pitch by a well organised Sheffield United. They were everything I think we should aspire to be. Big, strong, organised and a clear tactical plan to execute. To be truthful 2-0 flattered us and the fact I thought Pears was by far our best player speaks volumes. That said our play was so pedestrian it made us easy to play against. Not just pedestrian but at times too predictable especially in defence and midfield. The sideways and backwards passing was never going to hurt Sheffield but we persisted with it and so often barely got out of our own half. Perhaps one of the biggest surprises to me was that on Sheffield's corners Travis was picking up Soutar. Now I might be old fashioned but surely against their two biggest players two of our biggest players should be marking them. Our set piece coach should answer for that one. Also every player back for their corners is poor. Three times in the second half we cleared the ball from corners only for it to come straight back with their players having all the time and under no pressure. That wasn't the reason we lost though.

Eustace has more selection problems for Wednesday and the non functioning attacking side of our game  needs to be addressed. I would start Harry Leonard although Ohashi was one of the best of a bad bunch today. I also sensed that Cantwell is becoming frustrated. Several times he made runs to get in behind but wasn't seen. His body language told me everything. And I'm becoming disenchanted with Gueye. What does he offer?

The hope I have for Wednesday is that Stoke aren't Sheffield United but Eustace has to earn his money here. We have to be more progressive in possession and score first. At least if we are going to sit in it would give us something to defend.

I think we were holding our own until giving away a really poor first goal. The problem is that we just don’t have an offensive threat, we may as well play with two short if we insist on picking Dolan and Hedges, neither of which appear to have any confidence, pace, ability to pick a pass or goal threat. Given this, I don’t like it but can at least understand Eustace’s strategy to stay in a game and try to nick one but if we concede, it is very likely curtains.

I agree with the Cantwell comments, I think he will very quickly be thinking he has made a bad decision. He won’t be happy playing with poor players in front of small crowds in Ewood’s morgue like atmosphere. Venkys continue to kill our once proud club, both on and off the pitch, very sad.

I don’t mind a good defensive midfield block, but they need to be complemented with at least some attacking flair. Of the six starters in front of the back four today only Cantwell plays because of his attacking nous, the rest are there for defensive skill and/or work rate. It’s not an insane choice to go with a defensive setup against one of the stronger teams in the league, but we need to show we have more ways of getting points in our toolbox.

Shocking home performance with too many players notied for the wrong reason. JRC & Brittain take the blame for the two goals but Hedges' miss, Dolan's inabilityTrvis' lack of leadership give JE a problem. Manager had very little to work with and Buckley, Weimann, Gueye coming on proved that. The ref was very good not to send Gueye off.

How can we compete in this league with lightweights such as Dolan & Buckley. Weimann scored a great equaliser at Dingle, but he's done nother to derserve an extended contract.

JRC knew nothing about Burrows before he passed the ball to him. Why? A quality player know exactly where the opposition are. I like Brittain but his instructions must have been get the ball up the pitch, he lost it trying to do so and 0 2.

Not encouaging for the remainder of the season.

We cannot afford attacking flair. We can hardly afford the bibs attacking flair would wear.

Today merely confirmed:

  • Pears is a liability - cost us their 2nd goal (and he'll cost us time and time again as he's done in the past).  Time for Toth.
  • Dolan and Hedges are rank.  Dolan is a legend in his own mind - the little upstart thought he could replace Sammie in the 10 role, utterly deluded.  Hedges is finished, any pace has gone and contributes nothing.
  • Neither Ohashi nor Gueye can play the lone striker role,  Eustace has to change formation and try them as dual strikers and hope Gueye wreaks some havoc and Ohashi picks up the pieces.
  • Cantwell is our only offensive player with quality.  Forget all the feckin bolloocks about 'drifting from the left'.  He has to play centre 10 and be allowed to pull all the strings.  Simple as.

Sadly, unless - Eustace sees sense, we might just have entered a death spiral.

We need oodles more of Beck's strength, determination, leave nothing on the pitch attitude and competence to match and oodles more of Cantwell's vision, technique and quality.

The writing is on the wall.

We can, we’ve brought in loads in transfer fees.
The owners just won’t spend it.

for the first time this season we looked disorganised and lacking in purpose, credit to sheff utd, they are extremely well drilled and every man knew his job,im`e confused as to what eustace was really trying to do,if you are going to try and defend then at least attempt to hurt the other side by going on the counter,i did`nt see anything that looked likely to produce a chance and felt sorry for yoshi, who did an admirable job with no support,as it stands,i doubt even a top class centre forward would score many in our side

after 14 years of indian occupation ,the pain of getting outthought and out muscled does`nt really bother me anymore, like the old martial arts experts who used to smash their legs against a tree, after so long you don`t feel anything

I remember coming off after a similar performance to todays.  On the way out a guy said to me -“ I believe they’ve just found where Lord Lucan has been hiding, he was playing up front for Rovers today .l.

Pears dealt with a venemous first shot well from Campbell and didn't have a chance with the second. Rather than criticising Pears what about the players who let Campbell have two free shots. Pears is the absolute least of our problems right now.

Not the result we all wanted today. Thought Sheff united looked a top 2 team today.

Rovers started the game really well and I was encouraged by it then Burrows scored after poor defending. After their goal, we still getting into their final third but then let down by final pass or decision being the wrong one.

After they scored again, it was game over.

I think Ohashi did well today. hold the ball up well, good touches but second half he should have shot not look for another pass. Just shoot FFS!

Beck was my man of the match.

I thought Eustace should have 4-4-2 second half play Gueye or Leonard with Ohashi just before they scored their second.

Onto the Stoke game and lets win the game on Wednesday. Not disappointed a

Clearly Sheffield are a cut above us, so any criticism has to be tempered.

But seeing Dolan and Hedges line up again and again as we fail to get anywhere NEAR the opposition goal is a slap in the face.

I can't think of any worse front lines in the division than ours.

The team shape was the same as every other home game this season, which has brought a fantastic return.

With the subs at his disposal, I just think the guf in class was too big whatever he had done.

The good start has gone to a few heads, today always had the chance to be a mismatch.

it was game over yesterday when he made his game plan today . We set up like a bunch of cowards with no will or want to win . Goal down jrc should have been yanked off there and then , up there with worst defending I've ever witnessed in my life.
