Luton?

Yeah right. Not sure about Cardiff and Preston either and I'd say Plymouth have better forwards.

I'll give you Portsmouth.

It is not just about certain positions. It was a question of the entire eleven. League positions tell a story.

Brereton was there under Mowbray, he didn’t reach his best performances until JDT came in and he played under him.

szmodics came from Peterborough at around age 26/27, never performed like he did until playing under JDT  - he’s said himself in interviews JDT is the best manager he’s had who improved him as a player

a Wharton - exactly, Mowbray didn’t necessarily see how good he was. His opportunity came through JDT

Nothing about that comparison is factually incorrect

You said Szmodics improved under Mowbray. He never played for him. That’s what’s called a factual inaccuracy.

Our best half for a while but very little cutting edge. Cantwell has been very good. I really don't know how Hedges continues to start games. He's dreadful.

Despite being dominant, we should be one down. They missed a sitter.

Pears trying to play out from the play and his inability to command his box at corners, or even make an attempt to come out for the ball, could cost us this game. They look dangerous at set pieces.

"Pickering and Brittain start" 😬

Brittain, the second coming of Keith Andrews.

Pickering, the second coming of Julie Andrews.

All in all a good first half. They offered little threat, but for all the good we did the final ball in the box has been the stuff of nightmares. Hedges has to come off. But who’s the alternative?  Dolan?  Tyjon?

Weimann, like Hedges, offers very little going forward. It’s like playing with half an attack.

You could write a book called "The art of promising attacking football and fucking it up", and just show that half.

Delaying passes, taking FOREVER to attempt a shot, wrong decision after wrong decision, oh, and some downright shite technique. If Stoke would have rocked up at Leeds or Burnley with that performance, it'd be 3-0, at least.

Stoke should also be embarrassed by what they've shown that half, time wasting from kick-off. 1 minute of added time could have easily been 8. Of course, if/when they win 0-1 they'll call it masterful.

What a waste of a first half of promise.

In regards of the Mowbray compassion I was speaking about the other players who I’d mentioned prior, thought that would have been obvious given we’re in a fan forum so we’re all probably pretty clued up with who played under what manager. The latter was  a generalisation of my initial post.

but if all you can add is that it’s a factual inaccuracy I guess that’s great insight 👍

You simply have to score after a relatively decent first half like that.

Cantwell again our lone quality offensive threat though Ohashi looking more lively.

Again, Hedges anonymous with Weimann not too far behind in the anonymity stakes.

Hope I'm wrong but game has a familiar tone - 1-0 Stoke through a set piece.

Millwall 1-0 up at home to Leeds, doing well at the moment, won their last 3 before tonight too.

Back to Ewood, I have a bad feeling that ex PNE Cannon will score for them and they'll win 1-0.

He's only played 9 games but has scored 5 goals, although must be said , Stoke have only scored

once away in 6 games.

Both been decent this half to be fair

Brittain hasn't been as bad as normal but I think the quality of his attacking output is vastly over rated.

Can't defend either.

Pickering a massive downgrade on Beck unfortunately.

Yes he’s below average but currently our best attacking wide play, and it’s not even close.

The look on Cantwell’s face after Ohashi just didn’t read his intent, I think was his realisation that everyone else is much worse than him….
