Controlled the game well and that first goal was quality.

Apparently 42 passes and over 2 minutes of possession in the lead up!

Travis dream pass for the second.

Again Hedges refusing to shoot when well placed.

delighted with today win before this 2 weeks international break.

2 beautiful goals with good passing and movement at a quicker tempo which we have seen in the last 2 games. We should have scored more if Cantwell would shoot quicker. Weimann's movement for both gaols is wonderful

JRC poor for the penalty. Mistimed and misjudged jump.

Travis my man of the match. Pears and the back 4 had good games. Tronstad solid as ever. Ohashi yet again impress with his work rate, pressing of the ball and holding the ball better.

Well done to Eustace and the players today. Well done to every fan who went today. great effort.

Time to enjoy the weekend.

I must admit to swearing at my laptop when Pears was given the ball for the 9th time in that 42-pass sequence.

Yeh nervy most of the 2nd half they were all over us, and when we did win the ball back we made too many mistakes/misspasses. 1st half we looked excellent.

Trav on fire, and thought Pears & Ohashi very good. Cantwell also the only one who can turn bad possession into good possession and transition us.

I find Hedges a funny one, have said it before. I think the teams better with him in it, but individually he does look lack a bit of end product on final balls.

You saw Hedges at his best and his worst in that one passage of play in the second half where he was played in, dallied on the ball - thereby losing the opportunity to shoot across the GK with his favoured left foot - panicked and just passed an aimless ball across the box to nobody.

He wouldn't start for any other team pushing for promotion.

Ignore the league position, we're not pushing for promotion.... we're really not. This team is is not good enough to finish in the top 10 IMO.  I look at today as a welcome 3 points in the season-long battle to stay in this division.

Pears was very good today. It was a well-deserved win…..in truth, I wasn’t really expecting much! Cantwell is classy but spoiled a few promising attacks today by poor decision making.

Travis, who I criticize regularly, has been good for a while now. This version of Travis is just what we need……good passes and not the relentless momentum killing backpasses of old.

Not so sure about Batth, slow and indecisive and Hedges does nothing. We wouldn’t have seen that performance if Dolan was around either!

Weimann in the right place at the right time…..twice! Nice to see a forward doing his job! Gueye looked poor again. Ohashi was better today too but no end product. Silly penalty JRC. Wasn’t it good to see Baker pop the ball in like that? Mid-fielders having a go…..who’d a thought?

OH! And we played it out from the back more effectively than usual.

The players I didn’t mention by name did fine too.

Probably best to hide your relegation thread for a while. It was always a bit premature in November.

I'm actually not sure of his name - had white hair and pink boots, I think.

And agreed on O'Hashi, one of his better games for us but just lacks that strength to play as a lone striker for me.

He does ,it is   a difficult job playing up front alone ..Only ever seen one player really do it well ..

Eustace's first substitution may not have been great, but his second was excellent. As soon as the 3 came on we were able to slow down the flow of Cardiff's attacks which were looking like swamping us. It wasn't that they were any better than those that went off but more that they were 3 pairs of fresh legs.

Cardiff were very lucky with the penalty - the shot was so bad that Pears was left having to push it out - he went a long way towards the post and had it been further into the corner he would have either caught it or pushed it wide.

I wonder if there would be value in Ohashi playing midfield instead of Hedges and giving Leonard a chance starting up front

Not for me.

Pace on each flank would transform this team significantly. Especially when we sit back in our own half and invite pressure.

Have to be looking for a player or 2 in January who can bring that.

I hope it can be binned.

But there's the realism with this team of what it is more likely to happen.

Promotion ain't one of them

Giving some thought going forward and taking into consideration some of the comments regards Ohashi not being a target man and Baker getting more minutes.

Weimann showed today he has that finishers instinct inside the box today, so is he our answer as a goalscoring striker?

Would we be better lining up something like this?….

                        Weimann.

Cantwell.           Baker.           Ohashi.

               Tronstad.      Travis.

Beck.        Hyam.         Batth.    Brittain.

                            Pears.

Just a thought.

Much better, 3 very good goals.  JRC?  I told the missus as he was waiting to come on, "here comes Cardiffs way back in".  Forgiven for that with the pass that set up the goal.  What a finish by Baker eh?  Feel sorry for Pears only the 2nd time I have seen him get near a penaly and it goes straight back.  Couple of other good saves today too, still scares the bjesus outta me.  Much needed 3 points.  Was our ruled out 2nd really offside or was Cantwell behind the pass.  Anyway I feel much better than the last few weekends.  Them Cardiff fans get upset about the ref even when he was right.  They deffo got Pears the yellow.  I liked that Gavin Ward let some physical stuff go and he is not my favourite ref.

No, Jim is on point, we have shown we sre quite capable of dragging ourselves into the relegation zone.  A loss today and things would look a lot different.

A great and very unexpected win and very timely too.

The first goal was pure poetry and the second not far behind. That’s how to play the beautiful game and beats a hopeful punt up the pitch hands down.

A shout out for Ohashi, who I thought was brilliant today and deserved a goal for his work rate alone.

Johansson has been slaughtered by Stoke fans on a good few occasions this season, have a look at his thread on their forum, although he was brilliant on Wednesday.

Pears has been solid all season on the whole, you've made up your mind and changing the circumstances to suit your opinion. All this liability and ticking time bomb talk has been going on for months, without him actually being a liability.

They all make mistakes, Johansson is right up there.

You are sticking to your stance on Johansson arent you? One of the best keepers in the league.
