Can we maintain the tempo and the brilliant performance we put in against the bluebirds after the international break or will we be back in the death spiral?

Let's get behind them V Pompey and get Ewood roaring

Yea be nice if they can hang on to that confidence they showed v cardiff. I feel like International breaks can scupper momentum sometimes let's hope we can build on it going forward now

Stupid international breaks, far too many!

Ohashi is one to keep an eye on, he’s not had any real break for a long time and flying out with Japan may mean he starts the next game from the bench if he’s not fully right.

Really sick of these shit internationals they are completely pointless.

Our domestic cup competitions have had the heart and soul ripped out of them just so we can have more of these dog shit friendlies and bullshit early round European games.

We should win this one really but we probably won't.

0-2

Yeah there's too many games for these guys now especially if they are on international duties. As said above, Ohashi needs that time to rest and could perhaps start on the sidelines.

And sadly even though there are big question marks over Ohashi himself, the alternative is frightening.

The squad largely picks itself, even if many on here disagree with some of the regular starters.

Pears is starting to look a decent keeper, Pickering a good defensive full back, Travis and Tronstad an excellent central pairing, Cantwell looking good on the ball, Hedges, Baker and Dolan working hard for the team and we now see how Weimann can be be effectively used with fluid passing and movement.

Injuries at centre half limit our options a tad, but Brittain, JRC and Beck give us some choices outwide.

If we could just get Gueye, Ohashi or Siggy contributing, based on what we have seen to date, we could genuinely push for the play offs.

One thing is for sure, there is no sign of squad unrest. The players all seem together and that alone is half the battle.

I just worry that Gueye is becoming unreliable and filling a slot that can be used by an effective player. I still dont think hes really found his boots yet we know hes strong and can stay with and hassle players but just need to see more from him to convince me.

I think he keeps in more or less the same as the last game.

Only change I could see is maybe Gueye coming in for Ohashi depending on his travel schedule.

I don't see the attacking moves we made against Cardiff working if Guaye is up top.

@riggerwell ohashi for a start, hits the target often and can win the ball back and make good runs, just would have him over gueyeheyeyheye

We have tried most combinations, with little success. One we haven't tried is two strikers playing off each other. It may be an old idea, but it has worked for quite some time.

Is that -

Pears

Duru, Hyam, MacFadz, Pickering, Beck

Travis, Tronstad

Cantwell,

Ohashi, Gueye

Rigger ?  I don’t think Duru is ready but I’d give that formation a go in tough away games.

We are at home to the second bottom team. We have to go out to attack and win the game. Duru and Beck both have pace, play them as wing-backs, with three central defenders, Travis and Tronstadt to win the midfield battle. Cantwell to orchestrate the attacking side, the only combination up front we haven't tried is twin strikers, so it has to be worth a try. If after 60 mins it isn't working, there is always the option of substitutes and a change of formation. But then again I am not a pro manager

I'd be surprised if we dropped Wiemann after he just scored two excellent goals.

I imagine it will be an identical team to against Cardiff, the only player I could see possibly swapped out is Hedges for ACD or maybe Beck. But if I was a betting man I would go for an identical XI.

I always think you are well set in a game if you can dominate the midfield and I can see Travis, Tronstad and Cantwell being a really really effective trio. They should only improve as they get more and more used to playing with one another.
