And that's something we don't need right now against that lot over there. We need him in the squad for 4th jan

He’d have to be booked 4 more times in the next 5 games - surely he won’t manage that 🤞

I know we shouldn’t really say, but it was definitely an own goal wasn’t it? The LT is saying what a great header it was from Gueye. I feel like I’m in a parallel universe😉

Looked like it to me. Shame if it was.

Mentioned it twice during the interview. Hope we get a Archer/Cannon style loan in January to add 10 goals towards the end of the season.

Yea it's not the first time he's mention bringing quality in in January. I feel like he's either leaning on it to shoe horn something or it gonna be a bust. Not long till we find out I guess

Yes, he was keen to emphasise (unprompted) how important January signings are.

Hopefully he gets supported for once by the useless cretins above him.

I honestly don’t know what Hedges brings to the party.

For me hes very good off the ball, keeps running and running offering loads of defensive protection.. On the ball hes very hit or miss, recently been really poor in his decisions and quality of passing and shooting.

Also - Ive never seen a rovers player so uncomfortable on the side favouring his natural foot. Always wants to come inside which makes sense when hes on the right, but why when hes on the left hand side?? He ends up with very few options as he has absolutely no right foot so just ends up losing the ball in traffic...

Overall he did okay today but I think the preferred setup when everyone is fit will be Pickering left back with Beck left wing.

How many goals did Ciccio Grabbi get for Rovers? Big Mak Pape Gueye is on his way!

Also positive to see Litherland and O'Grady-Macken on the bench. Gives fans a bit of hope for the future - and maybe the players too. I would hope that they stay in there, rather than bringing back Sigurdsson etc.

I agree - both had good games. And Tronstad of course, as always.

Game of opinions, I thought Hedges, Tronstad, Ohashi, Dolan and Cantwell were all poor.

You have to have great admiration though for a side that can somehow grind out a victory with so many below par individual performances.

I’m saying he headed it onto the Wednesday defender’s head as it went in. As close to simultaneous contact as could be I reckon…

Yep.

Great result again, to get 5 wins on the spin with 4 of those away from home is a very good achievement.

The performance wasnt brilliant but again the key was how well organised we were at the back. Pears didnt have much to do (made a mistake at the end but was bailed out by Gueye) with the defence dealing with everything. Hyam has been back to the form of his first season (or even better) whilst not getting necessarily the plaudits and Batth has proven to be a really steady signing. We are strong at full back where Beck again was very good and JRC came in from the cold with a very impressive performance. Tronstad again patrolled the midfield alongside Travis as we have come to expect.

Gueye has had lots of question marks and todays cameo doesnt make the criticism he has had any less valid as he has been really poor to date. But tonight he looked a different player. Im not sure if it was his goal but it was a great leap but his performance aside from that was night and day to what we have seen. Not only in attack but even defensively, often (as was the case at the weekend) he is more of a hindrance than a help, today he was heading crosses away and made a fantastic interception to stop a certain goal. I hope he is awarded the goal as it will do him the world of good.

Our attack again was blunt and its an area that badly needs reinforcing, Eustace is really doing brilliantly to keep us winning despite it. Ohashi looks lost, Hedges is not up to it and Dolan again doesnt really offer anything. Cantwell's first time passing when we counter is really important to how we play and his stupid yellow card was really irresponsible and he will be a big miss.

Yep.

Is your opinion of Tronstad in any way linked to who signed him?

I really don't know what you're saying there - if you want that sign Sebastian Coe or Steve Ovett. Running about a bit ought to be a given. I'd rather have someone who can run about a bit and play football.

I cant believe some on here are trying to take the goal off him.

Nobody on here is trying to do that, chiefly as none of us has the power to do that. If anything I'm sure we all want him to get to keep it.

The game is over, we won, we're all ecstatic. If people want to now have an objective discussion about whether he actually headed it, which is certainly questionable without seeing a HD slow motion replay from the right angle, I don't see a problem with that.

Ultimately the dubious goals panel will make the decision one way or the other and that will be the end of the matter.

Not really, (I'm assuming the answer is Broughton) do you think Tronstad played well last night?

He was completely invisible for me. By no means on his own in having a poor game imo though as I've mentioned and I don't think we can carry on playing like that and winning for very long  but for the present we won so hey ho.

Eustace continues to squeeze the absolute maximum out of a very poor squad. Long may it continue.

Yeah, Tronstad did his job well as he has done consistently for a while. Breaks up play, protects the defence, reads the game well and uses the ball well especially to start counter attacks.

Definitely agree on Eustace squeezing everything out of a limited squad. The issues lie in attack where years of the owners refusing to even allow us to spend a reasonable chunk of sales proceeds on new attacking players has left us blunt. A freebie from the Preston youth team, a nominal fee signing from Aberdeen and a nominal fee from Japan dont threaten opposition defences. Eustace us so well organised and Tronstad's work is a big factor.

I will be absolutely agog if we win this one on a Tuesday night.

Surely end of the run? Sort of game normally an a nailed on loss (mid week, winter, away, won a few on the spin).

But.... We've looked so consistently good defensively it makes you think maybe we could get a result?

agog it is.

It’s a great feeling waking up this morning, thinking of Rovers and yet another narrow victory.

It was a poor game, but I thought we were better in the second half and deserved the win.

The ball was literally given away by both teams, almost every other touch and was certainly not a game for the purist.

For anyone thinking Tronstad is poor, take him out of that team and no way do we keep as many clean sheets.

He reads the game better than anyone in the side and although his performance last night, was perhaps not quite as good as some, his 8 in the LT is about right and he is certainly Mr reliable.
I personally don’t care, who signed him, as we have a gem.
