Yeah, but apart from all those….

This isn’t to contest the wider point but our averages have often been helped by giving up the whole Darwen End to the bigger clubs. It’s actually interesting to see how often our attendances dipped below 20k between 04-08 despite how well we were doing. Obviously we were getting much bigger crowds than now either way.

Looks like we’ve already sold almost half the available tickets in the upper tier so can see them opening the other half soon. This will likely be the first time since Oxford that we’ve had 20k home fans in the ground.

Sounds most civilised. Will the walls be decorated in claret and blue and club photos for the occasion? Q&A with Ashley Barnes pre game?

Absolutely scandalous Matty - I couldn’t care less about raising money, give this lot fook all, it’s a sad day when we roll out the red carpet to these reprobates.

VENKYS OUT

I sincerely hope that the Club won't be allowing them to bring in various flags and banners and display them over the netting right in camera shot behind the goals.

We get nothing, absolutely nothing, when we go to their place. A couple of thousand allocation, horrendous facilities, 1 toilet, a hatch in the wall and a gazebo for pre-match and that's the lot. No corporate, hospitality, flags, anything.

And they will flock to Ewood in their droves,

For a poured out can of piss warm Amber nectar

And that day on upper Blackburn end was a wash with sober fans jeering at a home win.

And win they did haha 😄

Probably the most poetic thing ever written about a lukewarm can of Fosters.

A lot of the ST holders that stopped going in 2010-2012 have gone for good because they’ll have long switched off from all things Rovers.

However, there is a whole new generation of potential ST holder, floating fans and fans that have always floated. They’ll go if there’s success and/or they’ll go if it’s cheap. They’ve no particular beef with the owners, they just won’t go to watch expensive, middling second division football.

The atmosphere plays a huge part in all this for the younger fan generation.

They'll not be disappointed for this game, certainly do no harm for improved attendances for the rest of the campaign.

(Results pending obvs)

Well as @Mattyblue pointed out, this is yet another venkys myth that has been resoundingly smashed to pieces.

Turns out we actually do have a large fanbase that is keen to get down to Ewood.

Perhaps if there was some imaginative and enticing season ticket prices then we'd probably sell more than 9000. I still maintain that if you can't shift at least 12000 then it can only be deemed a colossal failure.

Alas it's the same old story of deliberately running the club into the ground that has been going on for over fourteen years and the game after the dingles will likely see the piss poor 14000 in attendance.

Touches a nerve with me when I hear a Rovers' past ST holder moves on to say a top 6 premiership ST holder. Personally I can't get my head round that as you can change some things in life but you can never change your club.

Nevertheless, any past Rovers fan, ST holder or not, cannot fail to see Rovers success over last few months and the opportunity to get one back against dingles is on. Just hope that fans don't mix with these extra tickets.

Anyone who has done that was never a Rovers fan to begin with.

The literal definition of a plastic fan.

There's no finer derby than the Lancashire Derby in my book

Everton/Liverpool perhaps

But for two small towns to want to go at each other and has been THE fixture to watch across the ages. It's got everything you want in a derby.

And with that why on earth would you switch wearing famous blue n white halves for some prem side. No thanks.

I think it is equally if not more odd when former Rovers season ticket holders start going watching Accy Stanley. I know of a few in this bracket. Season ticket holders during the Premier League days but these days spend their Saturdays at the Crown Ground.

Now I know it is everyone's own choice what they do and I know Stanley offer a cheaper and easier day out but I still find it difficult to get my head around.

I sort of understand it in a way. I have a second team. My local Rugby League team  i could have gone watching Wigan or St Helens but I chose a struggling team. The atmosphere is totally different. It’s really friendly, the players aren’t great “ I am’s “ , they stop and chat with you. You can buy them a pint. Everybody is in the bar after the game mixing together. That’s the upside of supporting a small club. The down side is you’re always struggling.

I can’t understand swapping football teams though. That’s a no-no.

On that, they're always struggling remark, it makes the wins sweeter and more to celebrate there's a lot more community in small clubs/teams as you say you can mix and everyone seems to know each other

Healthy response so far since yesterday

2 main blocks will be gone before Christmas and the club should look at getting the next one on sale IMO.

Clearly people would rather sit there than behind a pillar or in the pissing rain of the Riverside (cans of Fosters aside).

With ~4.5k gone to 'segregation' / offering Burnley a limited amount, the most we can hope for is 27k. My guess is we'll have around 1k empty in the Upper and 1k empty in the Riverside giving us a 25k attendance (21k of which are home fans). Warms the cockles after the last 10 years.

All of 8 was open n gone fast

Oh wow I didn't realise that - I assumed either half or none of it and that 7 was the popular block. Great news.

This might give Waggot ideas to close the Riverside long term and re-open the BBE Upper 😂

Success on the pitch has played a massive part, plus when the game and a team they are enjoying watching

Yep know a fair few myself. Doesn’t help that the club has now decided that Hyndburn is nowt to do with Rovers.

So what Rovers be doing? Handling leaflets out there, engage in schools, advertise on local buses?
