The club seem to be quite proud of the fact that this is the first time in over 6 years since the Oxford promotion party that they've opened the top tier to paying fans. I don't know why, I consider it a major black mark against Waggott and his regime.

Nor should he or his mates receive a shred of credit for such healthy sales. This is organic growth, nothing at all to do with pricing or ticket policies and everything to do with the nature of the fixture, time of year, and perhaps most importantly the efforts of Eustace and the players so far this season.

Anyhow, about 2100 now remaining including about 800 in the upper BBE and 1200 in the Riverside. So impressively have sold 700ish upstairs this afternoon alone.

Sell the lot, including the other 1500 not yet open and it will be 25-26000, a fine effort considering 5000 will be off limits in the DE and unnecessary buffer zone

I reckon there can only be about 19k home fans to date.

31k capacity. Minus 4000 dingles and 4000 empties in the Darwen End so maximum 23k home seats.

Minus 2300 remaining upstairs in the BBE and 1200 in the Riverside that's 19,500, then knock off a few more for the end block of the Riverside and JW lower that are netted off (circa 500 or so)

Tbh it's hard not to. Just shows how much we want it packed again because it used to be electric. The leeds game sparked alot of this too. Think people are getting a taste of it again that's why

Yeah but in fairness, back then cost of living was ever so slightly easier on the wallet, no question about it people had MUCH more disposable income. Attending football for many people in this area is now a luxury 🥲

Obviously there's many more reasons for the decline like....

Not long ago? It was nearly 15 years ago!

It’s good to see a decent attendance, the team deserve it for the first half of the season if nothing else.

I find it interesting how many tickets have been sold in the Blackburn end upper since it opened.

I think there is a number of people who want tickets for the Blackburn end but don’t want to sit in the rain at the front and they definitely don’t want to sit in the riverside and probably would like somewhere more lively than the Jack Walker stand.

I’ve also looked at sales for the Sunderland game and 40 odd tickets for that have sold since I 6’oclock and now, but they are only selling in the one are of the JW upper that has some decent seats left.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they opened the BBE upper for that you would see 300-400 tickets sell fairly quickly.

Most home games this season there have been tickets available in the Blackburn end , but only at the very front.   It’s obvious the ticketing policy is designed around making the ground look fullish on TV, but in my opinion this is deterring some from attending.

Honestly, I'd rather see a full Blackburn End than a half full Walkersteel / Riverside / whatever it's called these days.

And it's good to see the numbers for this upcoming game, with plenty of time to sell more before the match.

Shows how fickle football fans are. Success will always bring the people to the ground.
If we were ever promoted back to the Prem, we'd be getting crowds like we did previously.

Like is said SG we’ll need to pretty much sell out the upper tier to get over 25,000 considering c4,500 tickets are not on sale in the Darwen End and the Riverside/JWL end blocks.

It’s possible but a couple of wins will help.

100% this. Have never bought the talk on here about us losing thousands of fans for good. Simply isn't true. They stay away due to the product being no good.

A lot of the ST holders that stopped going in 2010-2012 have gone for good because they’ll have long switched off from all things Rovers.

However, there is a whole new generation of potential ST holder, floating fans and fans that have always floated. They’ll go if there’s success and/or they’ll go if it’s cheap. They’ve no particular beef with the owners, they just won’t go to watch expensive, middling second division football.

Pleased for Eustace actually, he's been spreading the gospel about team and fans  unity since he came in.

Meanwhile, he'll only be pleased for his players that they're getting the backing, that's the kind of  coach he is.
