That was a tenner for a promotion party/ceremony.

ie it was a special occasion as is this game. The tenner shows the interest and affection is still there but the prices are too high. I'm not suggesting we should have  charged a tenner for this game by the way

Still say that the demand for tickets for this game was entirely predictable, the admin is out of touch.

Higher demand, yes.

Highest demand for a league game in 40 years, no.

Come on 47er, you’re a sensible poster.

My reading of the post was this was potentially the highest walk on demand in donkeys years. The reason being the level of season ticket sales now compared to earlier years

Indeed I am! I think I've said what wanted to. Several factors came into play to create this demand and they were obvious to me!

Even now they can't simply make every seat available though the demand is clear.

Yasir Sufi saying on X that the end blocks in the Blackburn End Upper are not suitable for sale because some works needs doing up there that can't be done between Christmas and new year.

Why have they only discovered this now and how long has that work needed doing for?

Also strange that it affects both end blocks.

Totally fucking disgraceful.

There are no works at all that need doing that affect these end blocks.

They use the same turnstiles, toilets, catering, access, exits, gangways and everything else that people in the seats across the aisle in the blocks for sale do.

Liars.

That demand wasn’t obvious a month ago, that’s the point.

That second paragraph I’ve not argued with at all. Absolutely no reason the end blocks of the upper tier, JWL and Riverside should not be on sale right now.

(‘Works need doing in the upper tier end blocks’ my arse. They initially put the JW side end block of the upper tier on sale, does Sufi think we all have the memory of a goldfish).

One for the next Fans Forum meeting please @K-Hod because I think the "needing work" excuse for the end blocks in the Blackburn End Upper tier is nonsense.

Elliot Jackson has chimed in saying its "maintenance" as he understands it.

If after asking why the areas were not available, the reply is because of needed maintenance. The question should be followed up with, what maintenance exactly. Then the question should be asked, if maintenance had not been carried out, was this due to the club not planning for the upper tier to be opened again in the foreseeable future ?

Well it can't be maintenance of the turnstiles, access, exits, concourse, toilets, lighting, catering or stairways as all those are going to be used by the 2500 people they've sold tickets to already.

Unless the plastic seats in the two end blocks have for some inexplicable reason deteriorated despite not being used for years and therefore aren't fit for use whereas all the central blocks are usable then I'm really interested to know what crackpot nonsense they have got lined up as a reason why we are selling ourselves short of capacity and looking like turning people away for no reason.

Darwen End upper wide areas are perfectly fine for Leeds/Sunderland fans to use yet Blackburn End upper wide areas unfit for Rovers fans to use. Tells you something.

'Mumble mumble maintenance'

Or

'We've let the upper tier fall into disrepair through neglect and laziness and now we're faced with a large gate can't make the effort to sort it out'

Once again problems unique to Venky Rovers. The one occasion where demand requires use of all areas of our 31000 seat stadium and ludicrously the club can't even maximise its own seating. It is beyond ridiculous, and once again totally contradicts their pleas of poverty when they are fine to turn their noses up at perhaps 1000 tickets being sold at £33 each.

Just like they are fine to deter people from visiting the shop and Ewood on non-matchdays and fine not to ensure there is sufficient stock to meet demand. Nothing to do with weather, covid, Suez Canal and everything to do with an incompetent, lazy group of people.

It’s certainly not “maintenance” through overuse.
