Pears

Brittain Hyam Batth Beck

Tronstad Baker

Weimann Cantwell Hedges

Dolan

Toth, McFadz, JRC, Buckley, ACD, Leonard, Gueye + 2x academy players. Crickey that squad is stretched quickly.

Experience please, Eustace. Assumed Ohashi is injured, we need someone to press their back line as otherwise they'll just retain the ball and the attacks will keep coming back. Plus having Gueye on the bench gives us a wildcard option for the last 20 minutes if needed.

I get the call for experience but I think there's room for someone like ACD, who to me could be a difference maker for us. He's also fresh having only played a cameo role at Leeds. He's also a ball carrier which we will need if we are camped in like we often are.

I know dolan presses very well up front but I'd be hesitant to start him there, weimann up front might be an option, a certainly don't think gueye has 90 mins in him.

For this one I'd be having dolan in there somewhere provided fitness (which given the fixture list is no guarentee). We need that energy and running in this one.

Yeah I tend to agree... We could start Gueye but we will run out of legs second half and bringing him on really helps. Buckley at 10 would give us the ability to pack the midfield which is useful.

I guess game plan will be to not concede and bring Gueye and ACD on around 65 mins to make something. Shame to approach a home derby that way but we cant risk going down to an early goal.

If we had all of Travis, Pickering, Cantwell and Ohashi fit and raring to go it would be another story but we haven’t. We need to approach this game like we did with the Leeds game. I wish things were different but we’re  struggling for players. The game has come at a really bad time.

ACD is still a boy physically, he’s very easily brushed off the ball and after he’s gone 10 yards, he’s done.

To put that in context, we were in full - scale capitulation mode when that game was played, and it came as little surprise that Burnley won, without having to engage third gear.

We'd lost three out of the previous 16 league games before that game, or four out of 20 all comps.

Because of all the injuries, i think the first XI almost picks itself. Will miss Travis's leadership big time.

And where's Siggy?

Eustace has said he hopes to be back towards the end of the month.

We also hadn’t won any of the previous six leading up to the Burnley game.

Not sure Burnley coasted the game, we were largely the better side but struggled to create much. Dolan took one off Hyam's head and we had a blatant penalty turned down.

It wasn't a surprise, no, but we more than matched them that day. The performance at their place was nothing short of disgraceful though

They won (again).

Time to turn the tide.

Refused to play an u21’s game back in November, he’s being left out for disciplinary reasons.

Which makes his inclusion and comments on the "Merry Christmas" social media video a bit odd.

Of course, I was devastated. Just not sure it was a fair assessment of the game. That being said, the last game in August was much needed to rebuild a bit of trust amongst the fanbase that we can actually fight against this lot and not completely shit the bed when the chips are down. A win is long overdue though.

He doesn't have any real pace - the mini-Saka comparisons are very apt.

I can see him being a very good player in the PL for a top team - one that spends a lot of the game camped in the opponent's final third. In the Championship though he's simply not running away from many fullbacks and that's a problem for us.

To be fair they scabbed a win at Ewood last time with a goal out of nothing, we were well in the game - I don’t think the players will need telling.

We outplayed them that night, they couldn’t get near Adam W and then that Benson pulled one out of the bag. We also should have had a penalty in injury time when that tossed Barnes, clearly hand balled it. Just nothing went for us in that last 5 / 6 matches, wretched luck that cost us a play off berth.

Lost too many games against this rabble lately...needs to stop and pride restored.

Every Man,Woman and Child on your feet and lets have Ewood Rocking.

Their repulsive Jack Walker song will no doubt be sung, our reply should take the Roof off!!
