Cheers fella, who else goes to the meetings? Should take 5 season ticket holders along to voicevtheir view (I know you more than likely fall into that category hence your appearances then. Is there a thread for those questions or do you kind of pluck and make note of them. Could do a question only thread with minimal discussion no digressing.

Cheers for the explanation 👍

There are representatives from different supporters groups.

Correct me if I’m wrong @K-Hod but are the questions not vetted before hand and then answers prepped with no opportunity for follow up questions? If so, is there really much point in the fans forum? All the minutes I’ve read thus far strike me as the meetings being purely box ticking exercises

Happy to correct you here, this is not the case 😀.

There is an agenda set and agreed amongst the various groups prior to the meeting, members of the forum ask questions under any relevant agenda point.

Just to add to K-Hod's post the agenda is not vetted beforehand. I ask Forum members for anything they want on the agenda (K-Hod collects those from brfcs members) and then draw up the agenda.

I do often give some background to the club to the agenda items, but that is so that we can get a proper answer which we can then ask further questions of. If I didn't do that we would end up with us asking a question and the club saying understandably that they were not aware and needed to investigate.

Inevitably the minutes can sometimes look like we ask a question and get a reply and move on. But usually there will be more debate and I'm clearly not writing a verbatim account of everything said.

Whatever happened to the 'tifo' display they were inviting suggestions on?

Is the club planning on doing anything to commemorate its' milestone 150th anniversary in a little over 9 months' time? If so what?

Is there any chance the club could be liberated from Venky oppression before that momentous occasion?

About 2.50 pm yesterday the Bristol City stadium announcer introduced and gave a brief biography about an ex Bristol City player called Dariusz Dziekanowski who was then welcomed on to the pitch. He was there to receive his legacy cap for playing for them. It was in a frame and just like an international cap. He then walked around the pitch to receive warm applause and there was even a banner on display bearing his name.

It got me thinking about what we actually do on match days for ex players and apart from the half time draw (when most are on the concourse) with some banile questions.

Could something like legacy caps for ex players be brought up at the next Fans Forum and the possibility of them being awarded.

This is something that the club are working on at the moment.  A number of clubs are now doing this - some award a special shirt, others framed certificates.  These are awarded to players who have featured in a competitive first team fixture.  In our case it would start with the 1879-80 season with the first F.A. Cup games.

We will be doing really well to be awarding caps to players from that season, and many thereafter.

Trouble is, and very sadly given the timing of the Anniversary, any initiatives like these or flags or the Fans Forum or Rovers Trust even agreeing to sit down with the Club on an amicable basis, legitimise the current actions of the owners, Waggott and Pasha.

Fiddling while Rome burns.

Clubs award these things to descendants of the players.  It's something that seems to be growing within football - a recognition of past players who have all made a contribution to the history of a football club.

Quite rightly with regard to some players but I think Tony’s reporting from Ashton Gate, was to a chap who actually wore the shirt and that to me, is much more fitting.

I have to say, I thought that Bristol City’s game day set up was leagues ahead of ours. There were bars all around the outside of the ground, along with music being played over the tannoy, and there was some half time entertainment inside the ground, where the winning chap got a crate of cider for winning an inflatable race on the pitch. The club had a standing section too, with flags galore.

These things aren’t that hard to sort. Waggot, Suhail and Venky’s have to be removed.

The thing is, it’s been like that for years too at Bristol as well, easily one of the best match day setups in the Championship. Rudy was there pottering about yesterday, I assume he will give feedback and we’ll revamp things at Ewoor soon 😒

If this is brought up at the fans forum, please mention the players shouldn’t be charged for their caps.

I wouldn’t put it past Waggott…

I was awarded one in the summer (albeit thirty years late) and they are real quality and I would imagine quite dear. Your suggestion of not charging them might call on stony ground 😄.

What do we do with ex players? We give them roles they're not qualified for, like director of football
