There’s 3 players in that team who did the square root of nothing yesterday. Another one who tried hard but achieved nothing also. Plus  one more that tried hard and achieved a little. We are in the position of rewarding failure. If this was a Saturday game I’d be having a radical re-think during the week. I’d be changing the formation. What we are doing isn’t working. We aren’t making scoring chances and just a couple of half chance per game.

Which 3 players?

Change formation? Back 3 in 3-5-2?

If that starting 11 is announced I won’t even bother attempt to turn the TV on and stream it.

Th three who did nothing - Dolan- Forshaw - Hedges.

if we had more time I’d go 3-4-1-2. As it is time is too short and games are coming too frequently.

I was thinking along the lines of

Pears - just about. He was shaky again yesterday

Brittain -Sanderson - Baath- Hyman - Beck

JRC - Forshaw/Garrett

Buckley

Guyere- Dolan

Cantwell has been a disappointment in the role and Buckley looked better for me yesterday.
it’s pointless playing Gueye on his own, get somebody next to him playing of the knockdowns. The width comes from Brittain and Beck.

We certainly owe Coventry a beating. Looking at history between the two sides we don't appear to have actually beaten them at Ewood since January 1997. Sutton (x2), Gallacher and Donis with the goals in a 4-0 win for anybody interested.

Sady I feel that the trend will continue with a 0-2 defeat as this group of players, hampered by injuries runs out of steam. There is only so much magic JE can conjure up when you're missing essentially 5 more or less guaranteed starters in Carter, Travis, Tronstad, Ohashi, and Pickering.

Would be tempted to change things up for this one as I don't think we have the personnel to play the current system well enough to win the game. Bring Sanderson in for 3 at the back, Brittain and Beck as Wing Backs. JRC and Buckley in the middle for me ahead of Forshaw. I'd also be tempted to play 2 up front. Gueye and Leonard / Dolan I guess. Not much to choose from is there!?

That team is dreadful. Best bet is a nil nil with it.

And its not even necessarily a go at your selection. The options in the wide areas, central midfield and up front are not good enough.

We cannot start with ACD and Gueye again. As much as I don’t rate Hedges and Dolan, we do seem to play better when they start. id be tempted to try:

                                  Pears

          Hyam            Sanderson         Batth

Brittain                                                         Beck

                       JRC              Buckley

         Dolan                                    Hedges

                                 Leonard

Id bring Gueye and ACD on depending on how the game is going. Eustace said that they need to work on Gueye’s fitness and whilst that’s the case, I wouldn’t be starting him. Think Cantwell needs a kick up the backside. Hopefully keep it tight and then Gueye and ACD could make an impact similar to Pompey.

Not ideal to be thinking this way at home but without Ohashi, Tronstad and Travis, and without reinforcements to replace Hedges and Dolan, I don’t think we have much choice.

We are, but that team goes from having one of the very best midfields in the league to probably the worst. So no, that team doesnt.

And that front 4 has 2 goals, 2 goals, 1 goal, 1 goal to its name.

Others have to step up and prove their worth. Buckley had a good game yesterday and show what we can have with him

Buckley may step up but Eustace has commented on Gueye’s fitness and Forshaw is not starter for me.

Youve said this sort of guff about players clearly not capable of playing at a standard to which we require across the last 3 seasons in which our seasons have all tailspinned after christmas and clearly havent learnt the lesson. Blindly expect the likes of Hedges, Dolan, Forshaw and Buckley to be of a sufficient standard.

If Ryan Hedges is the answer, I dont want to know what the question is.

Yes we all know RF99's views on Dolan and Hedges. You don't rate them. Some of us do.

We all know you were against the Forshaw and you have already started your dislike of him already after 74 mins in a Rovers shirt. Maybe give him a chance FFS

I dont dislike him as a person. And maybe he will suddenly start performing at a level of a top 6 side.

But a player unwanted by the worst team in the league and signed purely because he was cheap doesnt scream "we want to be top 6" to me and his performance yesterday didnt make me think otherwise. Ill judge as we go.

Why does it make a difference if I rate him or not? Give him a chance FFS isnt a constructive counter argument.

Looking back, Mowbray last season, starting going wrong cos he didn't change formation and stick with his false 9 including playing Bradley fucking Johnson

JDT's first season, we didn't sign Undav who would have got us top 6

JDT's second season, starting well then you have dressing room lost trust in JDT and a head coach who didn't want to be here.

With that starting 11 every week?

Appreciate that you are just suggesting a starting 11 for this game but there's no need to be condescending to others who disagree with your line-up.

The concern is that there isnt much scope for a different line up. Id go JRC in midfield, ACD over Hedges, but neither of those convince me.

Yep, there are no patterns in any of the 3 seasons and it was nothing to do with having a squad lacking sufficient quality and depth not aided by a lack of funds in January.

And this season, with squad players like Buckley, Forshaw and Hedges all waiting in the wings and already being needed to play bigger roles, we will be fine.
