We don’t know who’s going to be available for selection.

Thia would be my team if everyone was available. Let’s see how many make it out onto the field -

Pears

Brittain, Carter, Baath, Pickering

Cantwell, Travis, Tronstad, Beck

Gueye, Ohashi

I expecting about 3 of those to turn out. Let’s think about that before we critique the manager. I expect our first choice back 7 players to be un-available. That unprecedented at any club at any time in my experience.

Pears

Sanderson Hyam Litherland Beck

Dolan Buckley Forshaw Hedges

Cantwell

Gueye

No idea who will be on the bench apart from Toth, Weimann, ACD and Leonard

Everything points to a defeat, but this is a strange, strange league and you just never know.

That speaks volumes - Dolan and Hedges who have done nothing for weeks. So we sub them for Weimann and ACD on the hour and then they do nothing.

Desperate times. I've even checked to see if weather could cause game to be called off but its wal to wall sunshine.

Is Litherland only 18 ? He looked older when I saw him play. He looked quite handy but you should be making your debut in a settled team ideally. Not in a team full of players that have never played together before.

He’s 19, sorry duff previous info! Needs must unfortunately. Not convinced he’ll be trusted but it’s a good opportunity to shine if he does get a game.

Likely starting XI:

                        Pasha

 Waggott  Sanderson  Hyam   Beck

                Eustace   Buckley

Dolan            Cantwell          Hedges

                         Gueye

I'm certain Waggott will do well against Mehmeti on his flank...

He has also played right back a couple of times for the U21s this season (and presumably therefore also in training sessions), so could switch him and Sanderson around.

Real tight call between which is more depressing, this or the transfer thread.

But we always seem to lose when we should win, and win/draw when we're expected to lose, so I'm going to stay optimistically deluded.

Probably till about 4pm Saturday.

Draw this and beat Preston though, and things will suddenly feel so much rosier.

I have received this as Fans Forum secretary this morning. I have no personal contact with Nick but it might be useful for some fans. if you are interested please contact Nick directly.

My name is Nick Baldwin .

I saw your contact details on Blackburn Rovers Fans Forum.  I understand that the club are away to Bristol City this Saturday 25th January and would like to offer our facilities to away fans.

We are a family run community club, based around 5.5 miles from Ashton Gate and we are happy to give away fans a place to enjoy and socialise before the game.

We have a large ballroom / lounge available with sky sports and music

We will have special offers on a wide range of drinks and food is available to order.

We can accommodate around 200 - 250 fans .

As Blackburn are a well supported club could you please pass our details on to any groups that might be travelling down for the game. Obviously it is a limited space so we would need groups to book and let us know they are coming.

Our contact details are below and our team will be happy to help and discuss their requirements.

Travis and Pears back on Saturday according to Eustace.

I can’t see any point in rushing Travis back given how many other players are missing. If he aggravates it again he could be out longer still. If we had anything like a full squad I’d say it was worth the risk but we don’t and it isn’t. Travis is too brave for his own good.

We have a dreadful record at Ashton Gate, remember last year's fiasco ! Unlikely to get anything and so I would be keeping Travis and others with knocks out in readiness for Knob End, at home, who we also have a terrible record against !

Mixed bag there since we have started playing them regularly again over the past 12 years or so.

3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats in that time.

Eustace has said Travis has had a full week training. Providing there is no reaction by tomorrow he should definitely start in my view. He will undoubtedly add a lot to the team with his presence and should he start will be an important factor in getting a result.

I know we got a good result and are still in the cup but I do think that Eustace made a mistake playing Tronstad at the Riverside. We just couldn’t afford to risk him, so important he is and so poor the options.

The last two I attended there were 4-1 & 5-0 defeats so I thought that too until I looked a little deeper!

Perhaps you can stay at home tomorrow, Mark 🤔 Albeit, If Jim MK2 decides to make the trip, we are doomed anyway 😄

Don't worry I can't make it this weekend!

Fingers crossed Jim isn't going too.

If Travis plays it will be in midfield surely. Makeshift right back and Travis in midfield or a makeshift right back and Forshaw in midfield?

Put big Dion on right back duties
