sorry bout that.

cont...

mention are those detailed earlier in the thread. It's just an assumption on my part.

3) Haven't a clue why he didn't ask someone who goes to all the games all he said to me when I pointed out I didn't always travel was that he wanted 'a kind of overall view on the Rovers, something along the lines of what Rovers fans in the pub might say about their club.' He also stressed that there is not a pressing need to just talk about the game, I suppose that's Andy Neild's job even though I do find myself prattling on about it (if I've been that is!!)

I hope that covers it sufficiently.

I find it quite funny reading some of the earlier comments. It's like 'if you want to be accepted in to our gang you must do this, this and this.' Not done anything like that since I did a full 'garden creep' down Countess Road to be accepted in the LDDS at the age of 14 !!!!

Best Regards

Yeah but it's nearly all negative stuff.

To be fair, this week's column slagged off Neill for costing us the game (which he did, not Jason's fault that Houillier has annoyed us all since) and the defence (which is true so far, although I'm hoping it's just a matter of time).  It's been very difficult to say many good things over the last four games except on the subject of Jansen's goal and Brad's performance vs Liverpool.  Hopefully this will change after the Pompey game

Thanks for your reply and I certainly agree with point 3.  It's better not to attempt a match report as it simply usurps their regular reporter and there is a danger of doing a match report to death.

Be warned though if the guys in the pub dare to criticise the club in any way at all ffs dont write about it else JW will be down on you like a tonne of bricks!

I can be found in Uncle Jack's before and after home games and I sit on row 19 seat 130 odd in the Blackburn End.

Best Regards to all.

Aah! and there lies the rub....

You attend the game pished and sit behind the goal where you cannot see the shape of the play properly!

That explains a lot      :<img src=:'>  (Lol....)

I could do that, giz a job, go on giz it....... :D

I dint think you could see over the seat in front of you pished or sober gav?    :p

Before my ledge was moved I watched most of the game on the TV mate   I've often thought about asking the club if they'd sell season tickets for the Blackburn End concourse at reduced prices because our little clan could save a few quid which would help with rising beer costs!

But if confined to my seat I guess you've got a point   although with some of the people sat around me I get a running commentary anyway.

Maybe BlueBoy could write his own article for

everyone to read on the messageboard. Then maybe he would find that it is not as easy as it seems to be a regular columnist. Trying to write objectively about BRFC is far from easy and obviously Simon or now Jason cannot please everybody in their own individual style of writing.

I personally shared Jason's viewpoint regarding Lucas Neill in last weeks offering.

As Lower Darwen Rover, he will no doubt elaborate if necessary on his forthcoming articles in the LET for the members of this board

i don't doubt that it is hard to do what he does.

saying this like "I'd also like to think that he has been suitably punished by the club"....for what???? how could they punish him? they couldn't really!

talking about a two footed challenge....since when does having one leg bent, constitute a two footed challenge? and by the looks of it he only caught the poor lad with his trailing leg, the one that was bent....and jamie's leg was only broken simply because his foot was planted into the turf.

very unfortunate!

Do clubs not discipline players for sendings off these days. Whether it was a hefty fine or the 'hair dryer' treatment from Souness I can't for one moment think that they'll have patted his back and said 'never mind cocker,he shouldn't have been in the way.'

Whichever way you look at it, it was a dangerous tackle, a view held by anyone who sees it again (apart from BlueBoy that is) and the referee punished it accordingly.

The one good thing to come out of it is Lucas's goal and his supposedly man of the match performance today.

I am by no means 'anti Lucas' he's fully committed and always gives 100% even if he's not the most gifted of footballers. The way his team mates speak so highly of him also gives an idea of his value to the team.

Lets hope that today was a taste of what's to come from him for the rest of the season because when he's playing well, he's a huge asset for us.

Best Regards.

I'm sure most Rovers fans would agree with Jason in his LET piece this week that the 4-5-1 system used against Charlton and Southampton was a definite mistake. None of our midfielders have enough penetration to adequately support a lone front man, and the system shouldn't be used again.

As our new LET correspondent says, the striking department in the next few weeks is a real problem for us at the moment - especially with Cole's 3 match suspension looming.

Yorke's been given the cold shoulder by Souness, Grabbi again proved against the Turks that he can't hit the target from two yards out, which leaves us with just Gallagher and Jansen.

I don't think we'll be relegated, but at the same time, I don't for a minute underestimate the seriousness of the situation we find ourselves in. If we don't improve, the consequences will be grave.

Anyone who wishes to contact the Sports editor at the LET to comment on either Jason's pieces or any other Rovers related material - Paul Plunkett's telephone number is 01254 298222.

His e-mail address is: pplunkett@the-let.co.uk

Three sendings off already and Souness is yet to condemn any of them. If this behaviour is condoned, what chance of it happening again? Pretty likely I'd say.

Good point, not something that many of us have considered.  He refused to criticise Lucas and is still make his feelings known on the Cole incident, instead he keeps hiding behind comments such as 'the general feeling is...'.  Strange comments from a man who is not afraid to say what he feels  ???

His analysis of the formation and general frustrations of being a Rovers fan at present are spot on too.

I wouldn't hold that against him too much.

Ever heard Fergie criticise his own? Said absolutely nothing about Cantona's two footed leap into the crowd at selhurst park.

Heck, Souness cant win can he.

He doesnt criticise Neill or Cole in public, he gets criticised.

He criticises Dunn in public and he gets criticised.

Its called man management, never criticise staff in public or in front of other members of staff, untill it gets to the point where that member of staff is taking liberties that affects your control of the remainder of employees and the image of the company.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with it if we had a good disciplinary record as happens with Man U (as den pointed out about Fergie)

But if my memory serves me correct we were very near the bottom, if not bottom itself, of the discipline league last season.  We've already had 3 red cards this season so we can't be fairing too well this year either.  Also looks like Ferguson will get a ban for his elbow leading up to the incident on Saturday.  Two potential bans due to lack of discipline...

Great point Alan. I just think that sometimes he should say things like 'Andy made a mistake and he knows he's let his team mates down but he's passionate blah blah blah'.

Instead we get an Arsene Wenger style 'didn't see the incident'. which I can't accept.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Souness fan and I really hope things will turn around sooner rather than later but (as you know) it's pretty frustrating at the moment and the recent pieces have reflected this.
