At last, we managed to turn our performance into a win! Our recent "bad" run of form has been marked by one thing, a lack of goals and it looked like we were going to suffer the same fate with two good really chances missed by Khadra in the first half. I think it was those missed chances that cost him the award this week because he scored a wonderful free kick but those chances will have cost him votes, he missed out by just a few points. Look, he's 20 years old and if he's going to get any better then he's going to have to make mistakes, and more importantly … learn from them. I think he's just the player to be able to do that.
Also in with a shout were all three centre backs, Lenihan, Wharton & Van Hecke with almost identical scores. QPR were so bereft of attacking ideas on Saturday that all defenders got to play a much larger role in starting Blackburn's attacks, with Lenihan in particular playing as almost an overlapping wingback as well as our actual wingback. It was great to see.
However, BRFCS.com members voted in the end to match the decision in the stadium and the BRFCS.com Man of the Match went to Tyrhys Dolan, tireless throughout the game playing as a “false 9” or whatever you want to call it, taking the role from Buckley who was looking tired and maybe a few of the teams had worked him out.
