    Summary

Baptiste signed for his local club but was sent out on loan after only seven first team games. He returned a more mature player, capable of playing anywhere in defence. He established himself in the first team on his return but joined Blackpool when Mansfield lost their league status. Incredibly he found himself in the Premiership when Blackpool won promotion and he was able to secure a lucrative contract with Bolton after he completed five years with the Seasiders. After an indifferent season at the Reebok he was allowed to join the Rovers on a season long loan. Starting the season at right back he improved considerably when moved to the centre. The club would have liked to keep him but because of the embargo they were under from the PFP rules they were unable to make a deal with Bolton. He subsequently signed for Middlesbrough but broke his leg in the pre-season and ended never playing a representative game.
