A stocky, red headed left back who came on loan from Aston Villa he was tenacious and a good tackler but lacked invention going forward. The price quoted for a permanent move was sufficient to deter the Rovers but by the end of the season he was available on a free transfer. He briefly found a regular spot at Brighton but had moved into non-league football before moving to Hong Kong. He returned to the Midlands and worked in the probation service before dying at an early age, in Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield.
