Dack made a considerable reputation with Gillingham in Division One as a talented , free spirited player who played at left midfield but had an ability to turn games through his individual efforts. In 2016 his club turned down a two million pound offer from Bristol City but after a quiet following season they accepted the Rovers’ offer of considerably less. In his first season he became the poster
boy for the club's promotion, winning both Player of the Year and Goal of the Year. A natural number ten he was hugely influential with brilliant feet, deceptive speed and great bodily strength that made him hard to muscle off the ball. The gifts come with some fitness problems that stretched Mowbray's talents in maintaining his effectiveness but he became by some margin the club's key player.
