Recruited from the south-west he was an add-on to the sensational deal that brought Ronnie Dix to Ewood. Given time in the reserves he was a powerful player but failed to make an impact as happened at Wrexham after he was released. Given the fact that he had played in the English schools' side with Dix his subsequent career was disappointing. For a time he worked in the family off-licence and bakery but subsequently worked with British Road services and Rolls Royce.
