Craig will be remembered as the one cap wonder who scored in his only international appearance, when he came on as a substitute. His early career was hampered by his pragmatism in not leaving his job as a motor mechanic in Bathgate. When he eventually concentrated on football he became an enthusiastic and courageous leader of the line, technically adept despite an awkward style and limited athleticism. Failure to obtain goals limited his chances and he eventually returned to Scotland. He remained in the game as manager of Cowdenbeath and Armadale Thistle and coach of Aidrieonians before working for the Royal Mail in their sorting office on Glasgow Airport.
