Emnes, a highly skilled striker who could also operate in a wide position was an expensive recruit for Middlesbrough. He made an immediate impact with pace, energy, skill on the ball and an eye for goal but faded after his initial season. A switch to Swansea brought no change in his fortunes but on joining the Rovers he became an instant goal scoring success. Unhappily his form then mirrored his Middlesbrough experiences and he flattered to deceive.His career faded quickly and a move to Canada ended in him being released without playing a game.
