    Summary

A slim, mobile goal scorer he slipped through the local scouting net until he graduated from the Great Harwood youth team and started scoring an impressive amount of goals for the first team. Although he was watched by several Premiership clubs it was the Rovers who moved in for him, discovering that he was already employed at Ewood with the community development scheme.  He was a member of the side that reached the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup and the following season as a reward for scoring 6 goals in 13 starts, he was given a first team squad number towards the end of the season and a week later made his debut when he came on as substitute against Fulham. Sent out on loan to Wrexham the following season he returned a more mature player. Although it was anticipated he would spend another season out on loan he was added to the first team squad and when introduced the first team displayed a goal scoring knack that earned him England Under 21 recognition. In January 2009 he was unexpectedly loaned out to the leading Greek side, Olympiakos, and helped them to their domestic double, impacting strongly in the side. This was particularly evident in the cup final, where he came off the bench to score two second half goals, the latter a last minute equaliser. In 2016/17 he was top scorer in the Cypriot League with 24 goals.
