A lively striker who was an age group international at all levels up to under 19 he came into the Aston Villa side hailed as a future star. Despite being introduced slowly into the team he failed to consolidate his promise and found himself loaned to a series of clubs. When he was released he joined Blackpool, where he had spent much time on loan, but he had an undistinguished spell. He came to the Rovers on trial when there were doubts as to the future of Rhodes and Gestede. Both men left during a six months spell but Delfouness failed to establish himself and after a long spell out through injury he joined Bury on loan. In 2017 he was back once again in Blackpool and helped them gain promotion to Division One. And the following season finally began to display the talent that he had always hinted at.
