Bradshaw should have been one of England's greatest goalkeepers. From the moment he signed for the Rovers after playing on Ewood for the Altrincham schools' team he had everything. A dominating physique with great reach, agility, sure hands and a positive, calm approach he played the game naturally but still looked like he had absorbed lessons on technique. It is unusual for a goalkeeper to make his debut whilst still eligible for the youth team but Bradshaw did and coped well. When the legendary Roger Jones had to be sold he took over without the slightest hitch. When big money took him to Wolverhampton he played well but never matured into an international with his dedication sometime questioned. The victim of an assault in a Midlands night club in which he almost lost an eye, he recovered to eke out his career in unlikely venues before becoming a security advisor in Wolverhampton. In his mid fifties he became unable to work because of a degenerative back condition and after being divorced he returned to live in Altrincham.
