Ever smiling Sam Clark was a very popular player at Blackburn who unfortunately made a bad career move when he converted to full back from wing half. Forced to try and unseat Gorman and Crook he found it impossible and with Crook indestructible he got just the one chance to deputise. He looked to have gained a permanent spot with Halifax but a missed penalty pre-season caused doubts and he never played again.
