Spotted playing in the Liverpool reserves Curry was brought to Ewood by the caretaker manager, Tony Parkes. Small for a striker he had quick reactions and found occasional use as a replacement player. Having just struck a prolific spell with the reserves he began to absence himself from the club because of travelling problems. His contract was cancelled and although he was subsequently re-instated he soon moved on. Perhaps his most unusual claim to fame was that after scoring a hat trick with the reserves he received a rollicking from his manager for his unemotional attitude to scoring.
