  1. Still not the same context Jan - as they are all one offs and personally I wouldn't pay those prices either for any of that lot.
  2. Was it ever alive?? Must be deaf - couldn't have been the drum could it! ?
  3. Good on you Scotty - proactivity at is best. Don't know how he has got his opinion though - or is it a case of 'everything appears rosey' scenario due to the circle of people the FF seems to envelop - not dissing him just find it strange where he gets this opinion because other than the few posters on here, I don't know anybody who is for than against. Meets face to face /positive feeback - must be a case of only hears whatt he wants to here and chose to ignore what people scream at him every weekend and just plays on the element of kids hanging around him. I'm sure he does do it out of love for the club , and I can remember him (main drummer) going to the Rovers for as long as I can remember pre drum/Jack Walker etc however I can't honestly believe he thinks it is welcomed with open arms by the Blackburn faithful
  4. Mines turned up now - however don't understand the security aspect of it as surely more costly doing it this way.
  5. All after the horse has bolted GAV which is what I have been banging on about for the past couple of seasons -couple that with 'End Souness' and other contributaries and we end up with what we are seeing now. Cheap tickets - or Cheaper Tickets? - for games that aren't exactly on everybody's calendar as must see. Punching above our weight -I hate this term - only used for clubs that people think should not be where they are - no we are not - we deserve to be where we are its irrelevant of how many people have watched us getting there. lack of interest - now here's the crux - its been lost, problem being its alot of the what was 'the regulars' who have lost the buzz - the problem being its also snowballing to the ones still going. Savour the moment - I think a few people want to but simply can't warrant the cost on their budgets to be able to - even I wonder now if it is worth getting season ticket year aafter year and I have had one 20 years - maybe next season will be the season when I don't - regardless of what we do this season
  6. My worry is the way we seem to be conceding goals very easily regardless of the rotation of defenders. Not worried that we get beat in friendlies but the reports of our preformances is of a great concern and doesn't fill you with great confidence for the new season - however, personally I am not filled with that much confidence anyway at the moment and feel a mid to lower end table finish for the coming season without really being in trouble of relegation Scotty Posted Today, 12:43 Come on Scotty stop trying to wrap it up in roses - this is Kuqi as we know him
  7. I haven't received anything - only thing I got was the card with the shirt on confirming my details about 2m back
  8. Bobski - might be able to help you out on the record player bit ( nostalgia you see) Anyway this was discussed HERE FRENZY
  9. So considering the points being raised on the other thread re ticket prices - any update on the level of S/T's? Would appear the silence would reflect a poor take up otherwise I have no doubt the club would have been rejoicing it from the top of the Blackburn (Walkersteel) End
  10. Tris, Jan, Stuw, - although I can see your side here this is not the point and I have to agree with Rev again!!!! (and no we are not related ) Infiltration has always and will continue to be part and parcel of the game and it still continued regardless of the restrictions - in addition difference being is that even Utd and Liverpools following has dwindled over the last couple of seasons. In addition has Rev has said - has any of you stood your ground (remember you are the home fans) or advised the Police/Stewards to get them ejected - certainly worked for me against Citeh even though I nearly ended up getting thrown out myself. I'll say it again - I can understand why the club have priced this game as it is - but it is not right and they are losing contact with the 'real world' of Blackburn and lost the chance years ago to capitalise on the situation of Fan retention but went about it in completely the wrong way.. We all know Rovers have previously not been very good and communicating with the Blackburn Public , although this would appear to be changing but pricing this game as they have done will only put people off and will be detriment to future paying customers as they will just get the impression that rovers are overpriced -regardless of what the club do after that.
  11. Yep we are just a big cosy family Is that in the lower as not far from us rabble
  12. Jan - this may or may not be true and but I think the club are trying but in the wrong way and at the wrong time and I relate back to the 'uniqueity' that I have cited about the Rovers. As I said above and others are saying we don't have the fans to replace the ones that have gone away. The hard part is convincing the stayaways to come back - especially alot of what where once represented as hardcore fans. People have their price for football - and just because others are doing one thing it doesn't mean to say Rovers have to do the same - the club lost the chance some years ago as I feel they took the fans for granted once we had won the league - yes there is probably a proportion who also took the club for granted as well and expected something for nothing but that was probably minimum rather than maximum. Yes we do have our moaners and some excuses that people come up with for not going are just not worth listening to but at the end of the day if we carry on like we are we might just be watching Premiership footy with an almost empty ground. The ones that attend now are going to be in their majority S/T holders - and the way football is going that is what the higher proportion of the crowd is probably going to be as the value will be in having a S/T - however even they are at a premium now, and if football is going to carry on as it is then even them numbers will start to dwindle and they won't come back - can you see a problem here?
  13. Exactly pleasure - and things like this will only make it worse - the seed was sown a few seasons back and was obvious to see - however the club carried on with the trend and now its biting us big time. I just hope your thinking on prices comes true. As for Everton - at one time I would tend to agree but not now.
  14. Not quite as it would appear that there won't be 5k toffees preparing to come now if there discussions are anything to go by - so sort of defeats the object. Jan - Even £27 is too much in my book Think people are missing the point here - it has to stop, how high do prices have to go?
  15. --> QUOTE(ste b @ Aug 7 2006, 11:08 ) 433109[/snapback] He might have to move that Dartboard with your picture on it in that case. Perhaps Rovers should also be given some credit where its due for a change. I renewed my season ticket at LAST YEARS prices because of the early bird scheme, and have spread the cost of the ticket over 10 months. That means I don't have to spend 72 quid in a week to get to the first two home games. Steb - I dont think anybody is knocking the S/T prices and many have stated the value of having one, especially now if the Everton ticket price is anything to go off. GAV - don't really agree with you here, but understand what you are saying which is probably the same as why the club has done what is has done but as many have mentioned there are so many reasons why it is wrong and is in general what is wrong with the state of football at the moment. Paul - don't underestimate your comments as they all ring true - remember its only my opinion but you back everything up as you have done again above. As with myself your comments are not a knee jerk reaction as you have been expressing your concerns for quite a while. Football has been sold out to money - too much is going out of the game by easy gain and the fans are being made to suffer and pay for it , especially the more dedicated as every season passes. Its not only Rovers that are/will suffer - others will follow suit its just that we are one of the first due to reasons already expressed.
  16. Brian you confuse me some what ... on one hand you blame the Blackburn Public then on the other start apportioning blame back to the club then football in general. Surreal as it may seem though I think I know what you are trying to say in aroundabout way (does that make sense?) I don't want to offend anybody here as valid point are coming from every direction ... however I just shake my head at people who are laying the blame at the Blackburn Public. Its not that they don't want a Premiership team ... its because they can't bloody afford it and there are other contributary factors.. ie not the most affluent area, 'BIG Clubs' competing for support , the cutural element , Non city, media negative, replacement support to name a few. They might not be the most passionate as a collection numerically .. but for those that go they certainly are. Going back a couple of years ago we had a lenghthy thread on here about the way the game was going and alot of people raised there concerns, alot of which are now being proved correct. Now something I raised was the 'uniqueity' of Rovers and how we are different to probably most clubs (some you can't compare as they have never been in a similar position and probably never will be but I suspect would have the same problem) - this is something I have mentioned whenever this sort of topic raise its head - which it appears to do or has done over the last couple of seasons. I am not a follower of the 'we have been punching above our weight' comment as I feel we deserve to be where we are but I feel the club over the years have lost track of the type type of person Rovers Fans are who we are as a club - difficult for me to explain but I think most will know what I am going on about (hopefully) - and I think this has been the downfall. Paul has IMO been one of the best posters with the insight to explain the situation including as many have said our love/hate feeling now of the game in general, and on many a time he always explains in great detail. There have been warning signs about what how pricing was going to go - and like it or not - the dead horse (Lancashire Utd) that DROG has tried to flog to everybody on here is probably the most sensible idea going forward - now most people, me included may not like this idea and it probably won't happen in our lifetime but the way things are going this is how it will more than likely end up - unless something is done about it now drastically. People can blame -clubs, players , fans etc but there is alot of issues the higher echelons of the game need to answer for and need to sort out now before its too late ..if it isn't already
  17. Done it twice roversmum think my mails get lost somewhere. I had a discussion with one of the Stewards about them before (before last Season) and not sure if I heard correctly but I am sure it was supposed to have been a topic coming up in one of the FF meetings ( then again am I not right in saying the club do actually read this MB) Seeing as us unpriveleged unworthy don't really get to hear about what goes on in these meetings, maybe a FF member can confirm whether or not it has been touched upon. Personally, I don't think it will harm the atmosphere if they go (please!!) as I don't think it can get any worse than it already is - and then people might get around to be spontaneous again.
  18. Paul can I submit your name please for Prime Minister or at least head of the FA?
  19. So do I - just need to see him play a couple of games - its the injuries that are the worry but he also needs the service - predatory wise he has certainly shown he had it previously- but does he still? Come on Pob ... show us yer goals.
  20. Agree slightly Paul, but its been refreshing in parts especially with the African teams seeing how far they have adapted their football nous and going out to play/win rather than being tactical. Only thing it doesn't appear to feel like at the moment is the World Cup - don't know what it is but there is something definitely missing. As for England did you expect anything else with slaphead in charge? As for Mclaren and the future - totally agree - for some reason people seem to think there is going to be this massive resurgence - yet it will be virtually the same set up.
  21. Why? Laughed my head off - only problem now is Milan (ha!) might not want him
  22. Big Draw for Stanley Good crowd puller - possibly on TV First of many big games on the cards for Stanley
  23. Something I mentioned quite a while ago RB. - Looks like TC reads this MB as well Personally I don't think Prof Slaphead should have been in charge the minute they said he was being replaced (never mind appointing him in the first place) however I feel the team and possibly Prof Slaphead should be given a bit of slack at the moment. They have done what they have had to do and got into the knockout stages without playing well yet not really looking like we have had any problems. The proof of the pudding will start now, we do have the players and I feel the players will rise to the occasion when required . Whether we get to the Final or not is a different matter and could well depend on Owen reagaining anything that gets him back looking like a top striker and as Alan K has stated - getting Gerrard forward. Forget Rooney, IMO Stevie G is our most influential and important player and could be the lynchpin on which Englands destiny lies in this tournament.
