1. WIGAN S/T PRICES Out of interest Wigan have now issued the Prices of Season tickets - dearest £375 - after consulting the other clubs. In addition we have been categorised as an 'A' (expected) fixture which according this will be £25 for home fans but doesn't say what they will charge for away fans however they can accommodate 5400
2. Rovers did this last Season but cannot comment on previous However, based on what is happening at the moment re who we are 'supposedly interested in' doesn't breathe confidence - add to that what looks like the impeding sale of Stead (a player most fans feel is our best striker at the moment) and I wouldn't hold out much hope. Hughes is the one that said we will have to be more adventurous in attack next season - getting rid of a promising striker is not the way in my book and considering the amount we are likely to get from his sale does not exactly pave the way for us to bring in anybody of greater calibre
3. Happened to me last night acuately at Football mmm.. Credit cards - unfortunately these are catching up with me (ae mentioned before.. the wedding) other costs have to be looked priority wise - still cutting corners where I can - things may look different in about a month

6. I hate to say it Paul but I feel exactly the same - in fact there is so much clawing going on at the moment with my head/heart I don't know what I am going to do - basically on the fact - will it cost me more to sit in 'my' seat or will I have to move to the 'cheap seats' and can I really afford considering I have my wedding to save for. I am trying to cut costs at every point (insurance/tv/phone etc) which is why I wnat info sooner rather than later.
7. And yet again another boing final - as with most Cup finals - nowadays teams don't seem to go out to try and win, more containing the opposition with the object of snatching a goal. Personally I have lost interest in most of European games due to the structure of the competitions. Problem is, its also an element that is creeping into the domestic game which is stagnating the game as we know it. Lets just hope it turns out to be opposite to what I have said above and is a 'showpiece' final as it should be. 318353 How was that for you? 318532 Quite enjoyed it in all honesty Le Chuck - at least it turned out to be a sort of 'showpiece' with AC milan showing some exquisite Football (1st half)and scoring one of the best goals I have ever seen in terms of teh build up and finish then Liverpool taking it by the scruff of the neck in the 2nd half. As for showing into be the greatest competition - just showed me why it is exactly not the greatest competition and makes a mockery of its name with a -'non champ' winning it. In addition it also showed yet again that refs don't have a clue about rules especially penalties considering Dudeks positioning. Restored some faith in me with regards to British Football and was refreshing listening to Carragher after the match, him saying that at half time they thought they where dead and buried but that they didn't want to me known as the losers who lost 5/6 nil so they had to do something about it - and look what happened. However a good win and a final to grace finals which is how it should be

9. 1 v 0 Defoe (now where have I seen that before) and even more if we play like we did against Fulham
10. FA USELESS Interesting comments from the P/L re the FA - not something new to most of us though.
11. Well what with our new found defence and our strength not to ship goals like we where and Newcastle having been on a bit of a slump I think we will just nick this one 1- 0 - Shearer to score (og ? Its one we have (had) to win and I think the crowd will be up for it with Flowers swinging from the rafters of the BB End Bar with the noise and his 'BOTTLE' (x10) of Newcy Brown Stuff
12. That is an excellent write up by the Geordie, and certain aspects could be applied to the game and many other clubs including our very own and shows the contempt towards supporters and their feelings in the 'modern' game - even though at least our club does at times appear to have one ear at least to the fans.
13. But therein is the problem - the service to the poor lad had not be good and him working his socks off up front only gets him limited opportunities. Stead is not the type of player to work the front role on his own -well at least not yet - but he is better than Dickov. After seeing the highlights of their match at Boro , as already mentioned they where playing pretty well and only collapsed once they conceeded - now knowing they have to win and our fear and inability of scoring goals it looks to me we might be in for a bit of pressure. 0 v 0 or 1 -0 to the Throstles if we play (or not play to be more exact) anything like we did on Saturday
14. BR Its not the best place for parking but obviously always depends on what time you get there (unless you park away and want to walk a distance) Tend to park on the hotel (travel lodge?) that is just of the motorway and roundabout 3rd exit I think then first right and right again back under the motorway about £5/£6. There is also a sports bar there where you can get a drink and only 5 min walk from the ground. Would make sure you are on the road by 4-30 if leaving Blackpool though so you can get past MCR etc ahead of the rush hour and probably just miss the Brum rush hour/day
15. Personall I tend to disagree with most and think we should apply. The basis for this to me is it would be ample opportunity to give some fringe players (inc Jansen) and youngsters an opportunity to play in competitive games without too much ( at that stage) to worry about and also help with the pre season - if we go out we go out - if we progress then we end up in the UEFA Cup and the more established players take over and have had the opportunity to see what the others can do. At the end of the day - pre season is part and parcel and we play 'friendlies' as such anyway, which in all analysis the early games in the Intertoto are really.
16. Does nobody else find this scenario disappointing and worrying?
17. Nope I did too But another thibg I noticed is much of the Rovers and from all accounts so where the Arsenal fans in our game. As we all know though, the disaster at Hillsborough was not the result of people standing in the ground - but of apparent lack of organisation and control by the Police. As for the tickets for the final - £65 I would have paid as it would be a final (as mentioned previously my limit is £30 unless a one off/special game) but £90 would have crossed the line, as I'm sure it would be with many others.
18. TO STAND OR NOT? Better late than never but here is an excellent Article for thus pro or anti standing.. Rememebr its about having areas of choice which can be controlled and not total standing. Interesting that again Rovers are absent with their own comments, and choose to sit on the fence.
19. Tend to agree on that Alan, and personally think the annoying thing is more how we actually fell for the same sucker punch as what we did at Ewood - a bit flat footed - which is what most of the goals we have conceded have been like this season. As for people saying we had to attack, it was a bit of the old a little too late for me and bar Emerton's decent shot and Reid's header I can't remember anything of worthy note attacking wise in the 2nd half. This is the thing that annoys me more as I feel we could have given them alot more to think about in a defensive role rather than making us look amateur and brutish.
20. Don't know if its just me but was nobody else just a tad disappointed at the way we played? Although the style of play we would adopt was predictable, I thought we could have shown a bit more guile in our attacking options and think Hughes should take some criticism (esepcially the timing of the subs) for this as it was after all a semi final , yet bar the first 20 mins we didn't even bother to attempt to attack with any sense of determination - 1 header and a shot from a freekick was from memory our only real threat which IMO is very disappointing. As everybody else on here feels, I also don't think we deserve all the stick and criticism we have had thus far in the media, and as for the numpties on the phone ins (especially the Liverpool fan as already mentioned -best player they have had for ages and he slags him off) just goes to show what sort of idiots they had calling in However, enjoyed the day although (again is it just me?) it didn't feel like a semi final more like the Charity Shield. As many have said the Rovers fans where as excellent in making it a day as the Arsenal fans where in their strange absence before and after the match. Didn't feel to disappointed about the result as I feel Arsenal showed their class in the end - but what a set of whingeing tossers. At the end of the day for most us at least we have been to a FA Cup semi final and we will be back, albeit at the New Rip Off Wembley (built for Arsenal) Benefit Stadium
21. One to drag up for Saturday me thinks No Nay Another one for the oldies " You're going home in a St Johns Ambulance...!!"
22. Possibly DuffM and we don't know the full ins and outs but.. - If its nothing to do with the TV why is it being televised? If the Police are that bothered why have they allowed both ties on the same weekend? ie. they said it was all decided last September and everybody was aware of this - correct ; however, there was no mention of any kicking off at 12 fecking 15 and you are not telling me it has taken them 6 months before anybody has realised the problems before. In addition, as already discussed, why delay naming who plays whilst they wait for the Newcastle European game - why couldn't they just have said the Newcastle game would be on the Sunday? REASON - Because they wanted to show ManU on the Saturday game, and if us or Arsenal had been playing them, the game would have been a 5-15 pm ko without a doubt. Just shows that all the crap that has been coming out of the FA in their replies and comments has been lies and begs the question - why the feck do we have the FA? Its been an absolute COCK UP
