  1. Emerton has been our only attacking/dangerous source of most of this season, so i feel its a bit harsh on the guy when he has either been travelling or playing for Australia during the week and only got home on fri morn i think. Not really BRFC4E -did say give him dues for being 'tired' though 'only attacking/dangerous source of most of this season - must have missed that game put it this way - certainly wouldn't want him as my 'driver' if I was a bank robber.
  2. i was a great advocate for signing ashton, but he did very little yesterday apart from getting canaries only shot on target,i thought he played too deep- but glad he did. For one Ashton is a Striker and Savage is a midfielder Philipl so your question is inappropiate in its context. Tend to agree Waggy that Ashton played deep but he did look like he could turn out to be a decent signing for Norwich considering the rest of the Norwich where poor - and he's bigger than I originally thought, personally I feel he would have been a good signing for us - still could be, as Norwich certainly look like they are going down on that performance. Back to us, as mentioned it wasn't as 'great' as people are making out considering the opposition, but it was a welcome relief to what we have witnessed lately. Bar the first 20mins, we where composed organised and actually looked capable of scoring. Worthy mentions:- As Scotty says, we won this game in midfield - Tugay/Savage partnership worked - Savage did the harrying and tackling with Tugay picking the passed and creating the play pefect balance that both seemed aware what the other was doing and covered when required. Pedersen kept up his gradual improvement ( reminded me of Jansen of old in his style) showing the potential to be a class player. Dickov - at last played how I feel I striker should be played - not to much scurrying about but challenged where necessary instead of looking for a freekick all the time) and made himself available where possible. Nelsen - what a find definitely the partnership with Todd. Johannson - dersevedly put back into the team and certainly didn't do himself no harm, best IMO he had played at LB for us. Hughes -well done for revert back to 442 and the dropping of the FB's - enforced possibly but as somebody alread mentioned - tactic wise he might be inexperienced but he is certainlu not clueless. Disappointments - Mowkena - As I have said previously - we cannot play him at CB -gives me the heebies all the time - it has been mentioned he is possibly being to enthusiatic but he is much better as a defensive midfielder than at CB. Emerton - possibly give him dues for being 'tired' but still don't feel he offers anything to the team by way of being effective - Reid needs to be given the chance as I feel we look moredangerous with him. Gallagher - shame he didn't score but was rather quiet and annonomous for most of the game - Think hughes would have put Jemal on if Savage had not been taken off. A better performance but lets not get too carried away and hope we can continue the winning form for a couple of games especially for the Sunday clash.
  3. So have i And so have I Does anybody remember the Geordie fan as well who fell when the roof had been removed before it was knocked down?
  4. Don't know If i have posted previously but to the sound of Abba's 'Thankyou for the Music' ' We have something special, in fact its folklore We are not a joke you've heard of us before We have a club a wonderful thing Everyone listens when we start to sing We’re so grateful and proud All we want is to sing it out loud So we sing Thank you for the Rovers, the songs we’re singing Thanks for all the joy they're bringing If you can live without em, we ask in all honesty What would life be? Would you rather watch Burnerleee So we say thank you for the Rovers And giving them to me Mother's say we where Rovers before we could walk They say we began to sing long before we could talk And we've often wondered, how did it all start? Who found out that Rovers can capture a heart Like a melody can? Well, whoever it was, we are forever a fan So we say Thank you for the Rovers…… '
  5. Joined as I like the occasional bit of banter. Obviously if my presence upsets you I will gladly retire from your MB - assuming of course Rovertime et al will no longer visit ours They are only doing what you appear to be doing on a few websites -unless you have a doppelganger or aghast a double Anyway ignore them, most of them are only the keyboard warriors anyway and wouldn't have a clue if a Burnley fan was in front of them - no idea how though
  6. Exactly Bryan - when wil people start to realise (4 effin million - stupid corrupt idiotic waste of money spenders no idea about Football FA) ...mmmmm could we not do a manager swap?
  7. Variation on whoever sings this Benny boy. Personally this is what I sing (think we have this discussed on here previous) (tune of yellow submarine) ' .......Near the town where I was born ........Is a man who fails to see .........That he leads a pile of @#/? ......... And they call them Burnerleeee ......... Burnley fans eat bananas with their feet.. ( they do!!) ........... Bananas with their feet (Its true!!) .............Bananas with their feet ' (Repeat)
  8. Remember this is Rovers LR Just think Portsmouth at home last season - no away wins up until they played us - then guess what - yep Rovers at their best yet again giving another 'first' - and you wonder why.
  9. CLayton, Its hard to be sure as the memory now fades but As I recall the away end AND no mans land were not half the longside. Sorry CLB, from memory I would tend to agree with Longsider (no!!! agreeing with the'enemy') - but as said it is recalling from memory banks. Longsider - 1864/CLB are not trying to condone violence or glorify-just clarifying what most Burnley fans are in denial at (and seething at the bit and have been ever since 77) In addition, not all us Rovers fans are as confident knowing our ability to cock things up.
  10. Ace - looks like same lady has been reading my earlier posts
  11. According to the Official site we also got an additional 155 tickets
  12. ..And we also have a certain problem of not being able to score
  13. Get In 1 hour to get through according to my mate (posted a little late earlier) BB End Concourse full also Looking like now the game is getting nearer all the niceties and banter is now turning back to the normal must get one up on the other scenario. 0 v 0
  14. Currently 39th in the queue on the phone - Apparently the queue is all the way down the line to Blackpool and some are even riding on the donkeys while they listen to the soothing music NuclearSox included
  15. To me it isn't - especially with the season we have had Agree - so don't even think about it
  16. Possible but difficult to understand - anyway I thought it had to be in addition to Leeds game. Just can't see it yet before our tickets have gone properly on Sale - seems strange, as Longsider says Plod would be on it straight away and if anything I doubt anybody would make themselves so vulnerable to an arrest or good kicking if numbers are not more - but then again knowing some numpties.
  17. (typo error) Knew I'd seen that before No problem just the old stubs typing before brain in gear
  18. How - their's haven't gone on open sale yet?
  19. How long we got left Den? Need time to think
  20. I warned you - maybe not the point of playing well but deja vous with Neill
  21. This has all the hallmarks of when we last went down and Forest came to town - we are in a quandry with formations not knowing what to play and had no attacking nous of any use -just like then and I can see the same result with us going down 2-1 with Norwich now looking like they found the scoring boots -unless we do something about our atatcking formations. 442 - Nelsen at RB instead of Neil Nissa in middle to replace Nelsen Emerton dropped for Gallagher Tugay in for Moekwena And either Jansen or Stead up front with Dickov Some players need a kick up the arse
  22. ..... No we aren't - we are very very worried and its not just now ......And this is the worrying thing - yes we might not be playing badly but we still getting beat - WE AR NOT EFFECTIVE. .......No - but it is now our major problem which most of us new it would be ........Don't count your chucks chucks ....... yes it is - its always awful losing games - these 1-0 will start turning into 2-0/3-0 etc without us looking like having any reply - once we go 1 down we never look like having any idea of how to get back into games - losing does not breathe confidence - and the closer we get to the relegation trapdoor while the end of the season draws upon us the more nervous we will get. I'm not into the 451 formation- never have been and never will be and for those who thought it worked on Wednesday - we still got beat without scoring (again). As I have said before - dress it up how you will - but we need to start scoring and fast and more than one a game - we will not win if we don't score , and in addition it will be our undoing at The Turd - which to me is unforgiveable.
  23. And guess what folks ..... we are back to that old Blackburn stumbling block Boro have yet to win this year...wonder who their first will be against?
  24. Now we know you are taking the urine because obviously you haven't seen any of the others attempts (exempt MGP)
