But still a tosser all the same - and always wanted to be the centre of attention and the only thing that galls me about our WINNING (Just for you non Rovers fans reading) the P/L was that this tosser was our captain. Not underrated by me in any way or form and should be nowhere near being mentioned on this MB never mind this thread. One thing is certain - Tosser could not have laced Clayton's boots if he had been shown a 1000 times or more and Claytons' connection to the club still, and the glowing testimonies to his abilities speaks volumes to why he cannot be left out. Absolutely scandalous comments. Just because you don't like somebody's personality gives you no right to discount his monumental contribution to the greatest side we have had in modern history. I'm sorry but despite this thread being open to opinions of player's abilities, your comments go way beyond the realms of taste and in my opinion do yourself and this board no favours. Take it you never spoke to the guy Brownie nor took any notice of his comments or interviews - especially after our thumping at Wimbledon on our relegation spiral Once a loser always a loser - and as we say its about opinions and this is mine which I think basically sums him up. Dream about what you will but I go of what I know and what I saw and heard. Sweet dreams

do you not have a copy of the great official rovers song? with sutton over here and gally over there... blah blah... obviously its out of date but could simply change the players names... One of the lines was "Ripley's crosses just hit the air". I don't see how we could realistically adapt that. "Emerton's crosses just hit the first defender on the arse" doesn't really fit in. Think your are referring to the 'Go left right left' tune there Nuclear

Stewarding and the club/fan relationship

Wasn't this because that particular area of the Blackburn End was standing for the majority of the second half, resulting in a better atmosphere that was created? Exactly - and this is the crux of the problem (can' they get it into their thick eeds???) They can't have it both ways - they either get their arses in gear and put pressure on the FLA as this has been coming for a long time - or they have to put up with the hassle of disruptive spectators and dwindling crowds. You cannot create any decent atmosphere sat on yer arses - unless we all bring in our banjos ( and then they would be considered dangerous weapons ) unless you are Bobf who is a dangerous weapon in himself Well done Stu W and thanks for taking time out to do this -

Thanks for the info Glenn - Not wanting to sound argumentative here, but here's my response from a fans viewpoint:- 1. Now being realised by more and being played upon because they don't feel it is justified when no choice is given - hence campaigns being started for Standing Up 2. As I have said previously - the fans arrested (if we are talking about the same) may have been arrested for Public Order odffences but from what I saw this was as a result of the actions of the stewards initially. 3. Workable solution - where the bloody hell are they looking and asking - how about asking the fan groups etc (unless this has already been done - would appear genuine realistic options have been put forward by respective fan groups over the years -so what are the problems?) 4. Think they'll find a lot of fans are going about it the proper/official way - problem being is that all fans are being tarnished with the same brush (like the stewards by fans) and any reasoning seems to fall on deaf ears. Most fans are aware of the rules and try to be reasonable re the standing situation and don't want to cause an interference to another's comfort or viewing. What doesn't help is the 'stand' the officials are taking to rectify the problem which inturn leads to unrest amongst the fans 5. And this is the major problem - trying to ban and alienate the fan rather than looking at the root of the problem - If clubs are co-operating - MAKE IT KNOWN - show the fans the Clubs are being pro-active rather than remaining secret. - some people want to have the 'CHOICE' to stand 6. Probably because they are not told of the facts. ( see # 5) Appears to me the people who can do something about it are channelling their efforts in the wrong areas as usual instead of working with the people it effects the most - THE FANS. Any way of replying to him by the Admin thanking him for his honest views and time - if not and you are reading John C - thankyou for your time and effort and explaining the situation from the other side so to speak and a good response none the less -

I knew somebody would come up with this sooner or later. Hasn't it been the case though that over the seasons our letdown has been how we do not perform against the so called lower teams and perform against those at the top end of the league. Doesn't hold up any hope the way we have been playing thus far, working on the principal that the games should be easier Gull. It could well be we will reverse the trend this season ,... but then again looking at our performances against WBA/Charlton and Portsmouth and the way we have performed recently it doesn't look like it.

Excellent post BB And going along with AlanK's on the 'Steward/fans relationship thread' one of the best posts on here by far for ages.

Hope those that went enjoyed there vfm £40 tickets What is quite obvious is that these players are not good enough to help us stay up - now is the time to ring the changes. We cannot continue with the lacklustre inept displays of players who clearly aren't upto the task nor in the least bit interested. 442 - Is a must Dickov - I have said it previously we can't carry on with him up front - for all his running it comes to nothing (reminds me an awful lot of Ward and we know what happened there) Jansen - needs putting back up front with Stead/Bothroyd - offers us more there and is still better than most in the air Matteo - as much as what was suspected by the less gullible - he is nothing more than a first division player. Flitcroft - not good enough nor mobile enough - has had his time. Tugay /Thompson has to play there and either one and Ferguson play as a unit - forget all the bollux about a defensive midfielder they should be professional enough to sort that out between themselves. Emerton - As everybody else can see - no way is this guy a left handed sided player - stick him back on the right where he was beginning to look a least a bit decent. Neill - Needs dropping - Stick Reid there Gray - what has happened to this guy is it because of the rest of the defence is sheite???????? Friedal - Confidence with defence shattered - obvious decisions clouded by the useless pile of manure in front of him. Can we afford to drop him for Enckleman? Central Defence - Regardless of what happened need Todd back sooner rather than later - Says it all when Short is our best defender - Pair these two and we might get abit more organisation - use Johansson as a back up and if he's not good enough use one of the youngsters. Djorkaeff -Without doubt need to keep him in the side but needs the rest of the team to perform and be on his level - play him on the left if needed if not use him in midfield or as a striker but in a 442 formation. Left hand side - if not using Djorkaeff, we have to get one of left footers we have playing there - give them a chance ffs!!!! We have nothing to lose as we are bottom anyway and heading further down if we don't sort ourselves out.

Stewarding and the club/fan relationship
CAPT KAYOS replied to Mike Graham's topic in Messageboard Gold
And that's where your are wrong Scotty my Friend - this is not new and as I have said to Jim above is just gathering momentum due to more questioning things which the action on the field (or lack of) has not helped. Can't disagree with the rest of your post though -
If Short and Todd (?) are back I feel we will be alot better at the back and I don't expect a drubbing, however I can't see us getting anything from the game, and all I can see us doing is going out to frustrate the Russian Druggies to a draw rather than trying to win the game. Chelsea the masters thus far this season of the 1-0 and us looking like a candle about to be blown out up front - I can see nothing else bar this very predictable scoreline. 1 v 0 Chelsea - with a late goal yet again in the game due to liability neil losing his man again from a corner or giving away a penalty.

Think you'll find that similar sort of questions where being raised Jim - its just more people are questioning now because things are not improving- in fact they are getting worse. What is happening on the pitch at Rovers has probably exacerbated the problem but even so is not just started - its just its now gathering momentum. Regardless of our disagreement - my worry is that it will start to alienate all types of fans due them becoming dis-illusioned with the game (except maybe Arsenal /MU fans) ie - parents become dismayed and can't be bothered to take on their kids/teenagers being teenagers can't be bothered type of scenario etc/ all ticket rather than cash on door /Sky/cost? - the list is endless but all connected nonetheless. -

Excellent post AlanK I've started daydreaming already StuWilky print this post and take it with you to the meeting - show them what it means to the man in the street Football at the moment is just false and manufactured - loved by many - believed by the naive yet argued about by those that care. -

With respect Brownie is that not our aim as well like any Football club - if not what is the point? Personally, my feeling is that you go out to win every game whoever you are - and even more so now given the amount these people get paid - but then again that's one of the major problems of Football nowadays. I don't believe that is the No1 aim for any club outside the top 5. Cup progression is nice but Premiership football is essential to everything the club needs. Look how quickly things can go wrong for the likes of Bradford Swindon and now Leeds and Coventry. The 'point' for me is to be able to watch Premiership football every week. Don't seem to remember any one mentioning about the NO 1 aim just about taking games seriously. Also nobody knows who'll be the top 5 until the season ends. Things go wrong for clubs because they are run beyond their means and mis - managed - ours would appear to be a very well run club as a whole. My point is being able to watch Blackburn Rovers play and hopefully win - be it in whatever division - if its in the Premier then all the better but if it was just to watch Premiership Football then I would just go and watch ManU or Liverpool etc or subscribe to the Premiership package for the live games.
