MMA fighter dies 48 hours after suffering TKO loss in Ireland

Portugese MMA fighter Joao Carvalho died Saturday at a hospital in Ireland after suffering a TKO loss at Total Extreme Fighting 1 in Dublin, Carvalho’s coach confirmed via Facebook on Tuesday.

Carvalho was in critical condition after losing to Charlie Ward at the event and underwent brain surgery immediately following the action, according to the Facebook post. Here’s the message translated from Portugese.
