On the old BBC 606 boards, there were some real experts at boxing, history, best boxers ever, hardest hitters, etc. it was a very good discussion and probably better in ways to a dedicated boxing forum not that I've ever really looked into those. When it comes to boxing, I'll usually just listen or read.

The Australian Boxer Braydon Smith has passed away after a fight. My condolences. He must have really been in some very light weight boxing class, perhaps featherweight.

MANILA, Philippines — Australian boxer Braydon Smith passed away on Monday (Manila time) after suffering head injuries in a loss to Filipino opponent John Moralde. He was 23.
Smith reportedly collapsed hours after his 10-round bout against Moralde at Rumours International in Australia. He was in life support and was reportedly placed into an induced coma when he was in Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Back to the Pacquiao Mayweather fight; there is no shortage of news articles dealing with the upcoming event like this one: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2015/03/roach-will-be-pacquiaos-achilles-heel-for-may-2-showdown-with-mayweather/Seems to me, boxing matches are usually scheduled some time in advance, this fight seemed like it was scheduled about 45 days before the event. That seems a shorter time than usual. -

The crossing, I enjoy watching this webcam fairly often, the cyclists, joggers, red-buses and so on. It always looks real pleasant, one time though, someone who crossed turned around and was obviously perturbed with the motorist. A lot of people here may have been there.

A lot of very interesting chat missed on this thread but that's okay, maybe we can start it up again. Feels like April weather, nice biking weather, a bit of a wind.

USA National Men's Team does NOT select Landon Donovan for their World Cup squad.
I think they should have taken him along. As it stands, it's really against the odds for the USA to get out of the group that also has Germany, Portugal and Ghana.
Sunderland's Jozy Altidore among the four strikers selected. He scored 1 goal all season with 31 appearances. Just saying. Did well in the Eredivisie in the prior year. Perhaps Altidore has played well for the USA, I think it's been fair to decent.

Luis Enriquez, new Barcelona manager. Good player for Spain. His managerial record is so-so but I think it is a good choice. Whether they return to the top nonetheless, is not clear.

Brazil's kits are a bit like Australia to me, and then, surprisingly, when the Swedes wear their yellow shirts and blue shirts, again, it seems similar but the Australians actually have I believe the dark green shorts.
That article posted above about football in Italy: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2619602/Napoli-fan-suffers-gunshot-wound-violent-clashes-ahead-Coppa-Italia-final.html?ico=sport^headlines
They have one of the most successful national teams but their league has corruption and this other stuff. Friend of mine in Italy moved, he said there were too many gangs there. I personally don't know. The pictures at that link certainly show some thuggish types, types that were seen in England as well in the past two years. Wasn't it vs. Chelsea but I don't think there were any major problems. Maybe a little bit. Pub got a bit trashed.

More violence in Brazil: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-27270357
Idiotic, mindless violence.
I think the officiating in South Africa was weak but I think they were a good host to the World Cup. I don't recall any outstanding problems.

Justin Bieber accompanies Mayweather to the ring, dollar bills fall from the ceiling. Hmmn, I can't take the analysis of this, too late. Maybe the Argentine can win. Marcos Maidana but probably not.
Round 4: "Mayweather has a cut on his right eye. This could get interesting."
After 8 rounds: Even, 76-76... per the analysts, judges could have it different I guess.
Close one...
There it is, close one, one judge had 114-114, the other 2 judges had Mayweather winning it.
